OK Island, sounds good. I, too, chat to anyone yet I was very shy as a child. Learned to be outgoing when the friend of a schoolfriend's dad said to me, 'Shy children get no sweets'. That was the transcription but in the local lingo (which Kath would know), it was, 'Shy bairns get nee bullets.'

Don’t recall The Naughtiest Girl In School, Maddie. The only book from my childhood that is still on my bookshelves is The Water Babies, bought for me by an uncle and aunt who sent me a book every Christmas. I always got two annuals from my parents but they have disappeared in the mists of time.

I have children’s books galore upstairs, but they are son’s, daughter’s and grandchildren’s.
