Our son was with his wife in Alnmouth for the day yesterday - lucky them. If you have never seen the series, Villages by the Sea, it is worth a look. Alnmouth featured, as did Parkgate, on the Wirral, which I have walked along, Polperro (years since I visited there) Charlestown (never been) and other coastal villages. A great series.

Joy, I came across that television series by accident, but luckily in time to see Bucklers Hard featured, where I think my 3 x great grandfather worked as a blacksmith, perhaps helping the boatbuilders.
I recorded the rest of the series as I found the format very interesting.
