Colourful, too, Rollo, especially Rosellas.

I was too old for Bill and Ben when they started so can't comment and, anyway, I was 10 before we had telly.

The early programmes I remember are The Grove Family and The Appleyards then, later, 6-5 Special.

My school chums and I did enjoy Valentine. Does anyone remember that comic?

Before ww2 my old man was an electronics engineer but coudn't get a job so he joined the police. He still loved electronics though and he showed me how to make a crystal radio which ran in an old "Old Hoburn" tin. I don't think he meant me to listen to Radio Luxembourg though.
