TODAY, RADIO JEM’s “IN THE LIMELIGHT ” FEATURES NEW ZEALAND’s FLY-HALF, DAN CARTER.


EARLY YEARS:
Dan Carter was born in LEESTON in the SOUTH ISLAND of NEW ZEALAND.
He is the son of Neville and Bev Carter, and has an older sister Sarah. Dan is of Maori descent.


MARRIAGE & FAMILY:
Dan married his long-time girlfriend HONOR DILLON on December 9th 2011. Honor is a former Black Sticks Striker (A New Zealand International Hockey team) known professionally by her married name of Honor Carter.

The couple have two young sons, MARCO JAMES and FOX WILLIAM.


CAREER ACHIEVEMENTS:
Dan Carter, who is retiring from International Rugby Union after the World Cup, is the HIGHEST POINT SCORER IN TEST RUGBY HISTORY!

He was named INTERNATION RUGBY BOARD (IRB) PLAYER OF THE YEAR twice- in 20015 and 2012.


Dan has won four SUPER RUGBY titles with The Crusaders, and six TRI-NATIONS and Rugby Championships with the All Blacks.

He was also a member of The All Blacks 2011 Rugby World Cup winning side, but failed to play in the final due to injury. So playing in this RWC Final, also his very last international game, will be very special for him!


CAREER "LASTS":
On 17 July 2015, Dan and fellow All Black Richie McCaw played their final match in Christchurch together. Dan has been signed to play for Racing Metro 92 in France. Richie will also be retiring from International Rugby after the Rugby World Cup final today.

Dan played his final Test on New Zealand soil in the Bledisloe Cup decider at Eden Park in Auckland, on 15 August 2015.



SEXIEST MALE!
Dan was voted Sexiest New Zealand Male two years running, in 2004 and 2005! He is still a dish 10 years on!

In 2008, Dan was judged by American Cable Channel E! to be 11th on its list of the WORLD’s SEXIEST MEN!

In 2010 that same Cable Channel voted him the world's 3rd SEXIEST MALE ATHLETE
