I have 2 FB accounts and they are different and I get some messages on one and not the other,so I keep them both.
The one I use most for sending PMs is the iPad app as it is easier to use.
If I turn it into landscape and put news feed aside my contacts come up and if the person is active a green dot comes up and I can have a "conversation" with them.
I have been doing this a lot recently with my grandson to find out directly how the baby in hospital is.
Hope I made this clear..pm me on here if I can help anyone with an iPad as I rarely use my computer now.

I have sent 2 p.m's on FB half an hour ago, both were sent successfully.

One the right hand side there is a list of your friends names

click on the one you want & the private chat box should come up

No good sending a pm to someone who isn't on your friends list as they won't get an alert unless you pay.

Sending pms has changed from simply pressing send or enter :-| :-\

Thanks all for your help - I shall give your recommendations a go later.

At the moment I'm struggling with a new project. I recently acquired a new computer and 'im indoors has just set up my old computer next to it with a 'thingy' to transfer 'stuff' from the old one to the new one. At the moment I'm trying to transfer all my pics.

HAVING PROBLEMS ;-) ;-)

As a last resort you could always use the Engineers best tool to fix it. (A 5lb Lump hammer) works every time.:o))>
