Sending my wishes and prayers for Joyce and Jan.

I always follow Dutch on here, she is always worrying about her family, as mothers do. It must be hard being so far away from them, and for her family too at this difficult time.

If anyone can get through this Dutch can. She has always cared so much for others now it's our turn to send caring thoughts to her and yes Leslie we are a family and a caring family. Jan you have our loving thoughts because you have looked after our Joyce. <3 <3 <3

Thinking of you Joyce bearing in mind that the meaning of your name means 'experienced in battle'. I know how hard you have suffered in recent years with personal tragedy and with all the worry of your nearest and dearest.

Tonight, I send all positive thoughts to give you strength to fight this terrible illness.

Joeva, well that name is certainly right for Dutch, she has experienced many a battle.

The news I got from Jan via Sheila last evening was that altho it took about half an hour to understand Joyce finally got through to the nurse or Jan that she wanted a drink. She is still not fully conscious and mumbling but I think it shows her brain is trying to work, when she can communicate that she needs a drink.

Come on our Joyce, keep trying to get back to your usual chatty self and make those nurses and doctors laugh as you always do. It will put a smile on Jan's face as well bless him. He is trying to cope with keeping the family informed and us via Sheila so I am leaving things like that.

Sheila and I think that if anyone or everyone wants to send a card, then it would be good for Jan to see the support and would give him some things to read out during his visits to Dutch to bring her back to us all. (Send to her home address please, I think most of us have it)

For several reasons, Jan is going to try and get back to work on Tuesday, if things stay the same as now. He will then visit Dutch as she is in a hospital about half an hour from their home. He can then go on to his Mum's who lives nearby, who will be looking after him, feeding him, and looking after the dog so it won't be too exhausting for him. The company at work will help him too so let's home this plan works out and he can see an improvement in Joyce when he visits each day.


Will post any info as I get it but the computer is playing up so if it causes a problem I will call someone to ask them to put the messages on here.

p.s. Leslie is related to me through his wife Audrey, so we are sort of cousins - Audrey and I share great x ? grandparents from way back!

Thank you Liz for letting us all know the latest news of our friend Joyce. She is a real fighter and I pray she will have the strength to keep battling on, bless her.

That is a good idea to post out cards and messages to help and encourage Jan and Joyce. I hope she will get better every day and Jan is given the strength to cope too.
