Sorry about the delay - it was a guess, from JulesinWiltshire and visits to Bognor. Probably wrong!!

We have had three resident pigeons this year in the garden who eat all day long from dawn to dusk. I think they have eaten the entire population of ants because I have seen very few this year :-D

What makes you think we're all in the south of England Andysmum? :-S :-D

Andysmum

Andysmum Report 28 Jul 2013 15:15

You all seem to be in the South of England??

I've never seen any flying ants here (West of Scotland) but I don't remember them from when I lived in Hampshire either.

Island

Island Report 28 Jul 2013 15:08

Eeew.. I wouldn't want them on my bed :-0

Sharron, we've got swifts squealing overhead, I'm sure they are here every summer. It's a real treat for us, being new to the area, sitting in the garden and hearing then spotting them.

Prickolls........you should have locked the door. Skankarama! :-0 :-D

I remember going to Bognor for the day when i was a teenager.

The place was swarming with flying ants and we were covered in the bruddy things.

It was the worst day of my life..............Brrrr!! :-0

No.........actually forget that.

There was the day my Dad caught me trying to smoke one of his non tipped woodbines out of the bathroom window.

Yeah..........that was the worst day of my life. :-S :-S

:-D :-D

We have the flying ants in kitchen/conservatory every year but thankfully never in the bedrooms!! Have noticed they tend to fly 25/26 July too... how weird is that?? We are VERY happy to see them go but no doubt they will come visiting again next year.

I haven't seen any but there were swifts circling the other day and I had not seen swifts for years.

Have you nicked my frock again Prickles? :-| :-D

Morning Mersey :-D

PP/DC, I think the ants in my garden must have seen the weather forecast and flew before it rained. The 'experts' say they were early this year :-S

DazedConfused Report 28 Jul 2013 10:13

Have over the years remembered the date they seem to always appear on and that is over the days of 25/26/27/28 July.

None where I am, thank god. But when I lived at the Borough it was the 26/27 every year.
