OH has just had to go downstairs because Fred was shouting so he must be in distress.

He will learn more of distress if he comes that one too often!

The old bugger wanted a cup of tea!

No choice. The big foot came down from the sky and there I was.

It gets my washing and washing up done too!

I would have to go to work if I wasn't doing this anyway and I never did like work much.

It wouldn't be a break for me really.

I spend the night listening anyway, if a gnat farts up the garden I am awake and ready to do whatever.

It rarely happens but I still listen.

I he or I were away I would still be switched on.
The one night he did have to spend away because we had no power I did sleep well but he didn't and he was out waiting for the bus to come home at the first opportunity, Even before he had finished his glass of sherry they gave him with his lunch.

Tenerife Sun Report 26 Jul 2013 21:48

Is there anywhere he could go for a few days to give you a break?

Sharron

Sharron Report 26 Jul 2013 21:44

As I have explained before, he was sent home to die because he was making no progress in hospital

That was six and a half years ago and he hasn't had time yet.

Your threads are brilliant but what you are doing for Fred is fantastic Sharron. Without you pushing him he wouldn't be doing anything for himself. You must be exhausted at times.

Sharron

Sharron Report 26 Jul 2013 21:04

His friend will go with him.

It is booked, 14.30 on Tuesday.

You don't understand do you? the important thing is to avoid making a decision in case it is wrong. Then you can adopt the high ground to judge whoever was landed with the job.

He didn't used to be able to go on the bus until he tried, or into Wetherspoons, or to the sausage sandwich provider or the café.

Tenerife Sun

Tenerife Sun Report 26 Jul 2013 20:57

Could he go himself and take a note from you to be produced only if he finds he can't hope with asking for his appointment. Or could his friend go with him and do the talking.

Sharron

Sharron Report 26 Jul 2013 20:19

He lost his speech when he had the stroke.

It is considerably better now but he still gets his mucking firds wuddled and he won't use the telephone because he wears hearing aids.

They have been known to go in without an appointment but he feels more secure having one and then I know what I am dealing with.

They don't seem to need an appointment for Wetherspoons!

~`*`Jude`*`~ Report 26 Jul 2013 20:03

l hope you are serious about this Sharron, he's perfectly able to catch a bus etc etc, so he should sort his appointments, especially as he can go into the opticians in town!!!!
