Sharron

Sharron Report 18 Jul 2013 17:26

She has asked me who Fred is.

Now, I have described him to you all over the years and I spend my life explaining him and his behaviour so I wondered if some of his followers might do the job for me please.

Fred is a pernickety but seemingly loveable old chap - Sharron obviously loves him to bits and makes sure he lives life to the full and even though it's hard work, she manages to see the funny side of most things

Fred is Sharron's dad he is a darling and loves to go out in his wheelchair collecting dung so Sharron can cook rhubard pie ;-).
Sharron has looked after him really well since he had a stroke and now forces him to peel potatoes and wash up the dirty crocks. :-D

She has a wicked sense of humour regards Fred and all of us admire her.

Will that do :-D :-D :-D

KittytheLearnerCook Report 18 Jul 2013 17:36

All of the above, plus he has hollow legs so is never full no matter how much he eats.

He speaks a language all of his own and I very much hope to meet him one day soon:))

'Emma' Report 18 Jul 2013 17:38

Sharron's threads about Fred are funny and as Ann says she
loves him to bits. Oh and Fred likes a wee dram :-D
Very much admired on the boards on how she cares for him.

Emma :-)

Don't ask why Sharron, think of the days out you could have while Fred entertains at home :-D

AnninGlos Report 18 Jul 2013 17:47

I think of him as our mascot. He sounds a stubborn old so and so and good for him. with Sharron's help he has overcome a bad stroke in his later years. Sharron was not prepared to sit back and accept the general opinion of the NHS that he was unable to do anything. And she was right.

He, and she, have given us many laughs but we love him to bits even though I don't think any of us have met him. Long may he roam with his mate in his wheel chair. :-)

But I would have to come home eventually!

He would probably have taken them out dung collecting and I wouldn't be able to get in the gate for droppings!

Maybe I can put this another way and tell you who Sharron is?

Sharron is the wonderful person who, despite what daily life might throw at her, gives us regular updates on the antics of the mischievous but lovable Fred.

It is a Fred Thread.

She is also the fence who handles his stolen fruit and veg.

Maybe we could learn a lot from the admirable Sharron!

PatinCyprus Report 18 Jul 2013 18:02

Lyndi you forgot to mention it was Sharron that got the medal for him and arranged for it to be presented to him.

I always read Sharron's threads about Fred and often read them out to OH. We both find them very amusing. Long may the Fred threads go on.

Sharron you do a wonderful job and we do so enjoy your threads.

:-D

Fred is Sharron's dad,and he loves to roam in his wheelchair with his mate.

Now he really loves his sausage sarnies in the cafe in the town and goes with his mate to sit fill himself then goes on to have lunch in the church in the village.

Fred had a really bad stroke and Sharron is a marvellous person who is his carer but she won't stand no nonsense off him.

Books all his appointments and makes sure he gets there.

And Sharron didn't listen to the hospital as she knew him better than anyone else.

He has a fantastic time racing round in the wheelchair going on and off the buses.

Now about Sharron she is our Heroine as she has a lot to put up with with Fred loosing his baseball cap.

Also Sharron arranged a special party for Fred when his Arctic Medal arrived in the post the other week.

I think most of us had tears in our eyes when Sharron let us know how the party went for Fred.

Fred is a lovable rogue/old man.

Sharron

Sharron Report 18 Jul 2013 18:14

This is just a describe Fred thread, not a make Sharron a conceited b***h thread.

I didn't organize a party for him, as if, remember how his birthday coincided with a funeral tea? He had his medal at the village lunch.

Sharron has given Fred a new lease of life when all seemed gloom and doom after his stroke and the hospital had more or less dismissed him.
Boy how has he progressed since then.

Fred is a champion gatherer, ....whether it be blackberries, dung or clothes for washing ( even if they don't need it )
He's also gained alot of admirers on here as has Sharron, for whom even the smallest outing for Fred needs careful planning.

I think they are both great. I've met Sharron, but would love to meet Fred too.
