Never in my life have I had a week like this one - dreadful - not asking for sympathy by the way, I've had a shedload of that for which I am most grateful

Firstly Sandie's funeral- actually in a way that had some lovely features but should never have happened

Wednesday night , at midnight, I rushed to the University Hospital of Wales to be with my pal and we both sat and watched her 67 yer old husband die five minutes after we arrived

My one neighbour across the road - forty years I've know this lovely lady - she was diagnosed yesterday with a malignant brain tumour - doubt they'll operate, she's 87

My other neighbours next door to her had to attend the inquest of their 49 year old son in law - committed suicide by hanging when suffering from depression - found by his 12 year old son hanging in the garage

next door neighbour - recently widowed and not getting over it had an op for carpal tunnel syndrome and has sunk into a depression cos he canlt do anyhing

my Indian neighbous who I befriended over Christmas and offered to collect their post every day whilst they were in India so the house didnlt look empty - saw him - a doctor - loading his car, popped across to say hello, usual friendly greeting and then discovered he was moving and he didn't even bother to say he was going - so much for trying to forge inter-cultural relations :-(

Only good thing, my son in recovery from the 12th op for the sme thing managed to drive down to se me yesterday for the first time and said the wound is finally healing

now what else can possibly happen - do not answer that :-D

I hope life gets better for you very soon, it can't get much worse. I admire you for not sinking into depression yourself with all that going on around you x

thanks - I do acually suffer from clinical depression but keep taking the tablets and I'm fine :-D which remind me, with all the kerfuffle I forgot them yesterday, so shall just make sure I take today's :-D :-D

Ann, my mum used to say that too lol, she backtracked on it at times though!

Ann, reading your thread, it just occurred to me that the only thing that happened to you was a positive one when your son managed to drive to see you.

Stand back a bit, you are not alone in dealing with the other problems. You, fortunately, are only peripheral support.

You just put your bit of support in where it is needed, it will still be vital.

As for the ignorant Indian neighbours, well, there's another job you don't have to do any more.

Isn't it just what depressives do though, take on the worrying for everybody else?

oh - forgot - had my second weigh in at Slimmers World and stayed the same :-S and I had been so good

Ann so pleased that your son managed to get to see you and is on the mend.

Sharron's post is a good one. You are a caring friend and neighbour which is why you take it all to heart but I hope sharing on here helps. And why shouldn't you have sympathy anyway. Sending you a ((((((hug), not least so it will help you cope with lunch............. :-D Sue.

You have spread kindness and been our representative, you have been there for a friend. There are so many things we can't change just make them that little bit better.


And I will do my bit for you and say
Definitely no salad then Ann .. just the sardines and hold the toast..

Ann, great news about your son. At least you have had one good thing happen this week, so hopefully it will now continue that way.
