Thank you all! Amazing response! I had seen the Candadian Military Record, but the census I hadn't seen. From the little I have gleaned so far, it looks like he married a Flossie B Hansen and they emigrated from America to Canada in March 1921 but after that the trail goes cold. Very interesting that he had so many siblings, that will give me something to work on for now. Interestingly though there was a stowaay listed on board a ship from Liverpool to New Orleans in 1911 listed as George Lax, born in Workington, could it be the same I wonder...? Thank you everyone :) |

I'm trying to find out if he was stationed in the UK at all during his military service in the Canadian Forces, I've emailed their record office but as yet have not had a reply. So interesting though and thank you for inserting all of the information, it is lovely to have this help! Vicki :-) |

Unless his name can be found on a Troop ship, you may have to wait to see what the Canadian Archives have to say. |

So the Canadian Military Dept I contacted did reply today and have passed it over to another department who will look into his whereabouts for me, which is great. I just cannot find any other reference to Jane Lax though, the only time she is mentioned is on that Electoral Register - could she be a daughter perhaps? She's not a sister of George's, so where does she fit in? Where is her birth certificate and where are George and Flossie's death certificates? I must be missing something because the trail seems to go cold after that last listing in 1968. |
