The new editor has said that the Page 3 is safe for the future.

Surely in this day and age this is such an outdated page.

No I am not offended by it, I don't buy this paper.

Those girls on Page three are not forced to pose,they earn quite a lot of money by doing it.so just leave them to it after all no one forces anyone to buy the paper cocerned.Or meyhap a little jealousy creeps in. :-D :-D :-D :-D

How many people buy newspapers at all now? When Murdoch shutdown the News of the World he claimed it was an insignificant part of his vast income. And that was the countrys best selling paper. Newspapers have had their day. Here we are on the internet where you can look up all the news, gossip and dirty pictures you want for nothing. So why buy a paper?

Its far cheaper than Toilet rolls. :-D :-D :-D :-D

Yes, the women can earn a lot of money selling their bodies - it's the oldest profession - it's just a question of degree. It's also about self respect and pride. I was brought up better than to think it's ok to earn money from my body. I have far too much respect for myself and the parents who brought me up with proper values. I got an education and a proper job and put something useful back into society.

Respect goes 2 ways. Do any women respect men who dribble over page 3? I think not.

I didn't say they shouldn't sell their bodies, I just said that porn belongs on the top shelf not in a newspaper. As long as there are dirty old/young men there will be a market for porn, sadly.

If I had daughters it's not the sort of image I'd want them to see on a daily basis. Particularly not when certain types of men think that jealousy is the only reason most women don't like it. How many men who buy the stuff would like to see their daughters there fulfilling sad men's fantasies?

Many of these young girls are extremely pretty and I do not really care how they earn their money. If you had read my very short original post I was merely asking if page 3 is now outdated.

These photos are photoshopped etc., to give oft times an unrealistic picture of an 'ideal' female.

Look at Katie 'Jordan' Price and Jodi Marsh. Both were very pretty young girls when they first started out. No surgery, enhancements etc., and look at them now. Both a parody of their original selves.

At a time when girls still yet to reach puberty are suffering from anorexia and want surgery Page 3 has surely gone way past its 'sell by' date.

Well probably nothing in the likes of your vertious self. just defended my country in many places of the world.however if you look there are most times on my post "Smiley faces" which are meant to convey "FUN POST". and as you seem to think I.m a "Dirty Old Man" you have no Idea of what I am or have been but I don,t boast or brag about how good and virtious I am as you like to do.Just one other thing, I employed People so they could feed their families and put a roof over their heads. Would that meet your Criteria?

I don't see discussion of porn as a "fun post". Each to his/her own. Putting a smiley on an offensive post doesn't make it any less offensive.

As for the "dirty old man" epithet - that may or may not be true, I was speaking in generalities - of Sun Readers.

I wasn't bragging, Merlin, you suggested I knew nothing of the real world, I was showing you I know a lot. You also implied that I was jealous of page three models I was telling you my life was a lot more fulfilled than that.

The print will not come off on your fingers if you get your butler to iron the paper first to set the ink, as mine does.

Interesting to note though that the Sun is the most popular daily national newspaper (ABC's definition, not mine) in the UK according to latest figures for this year from the ABC.
In fact it has more than double the circulation of the Mirror and considerably more copies are circulated than of its nearest rival, the Daily Mail.
