Fred doesn't do church. His philosophy has always been that the last time he went in he was carried and he intends to make the next time the same.

However, our vicar has a special anniversary on Saturday. There is a service at lunchtime, and, afterwards, there is a buffet with sandwiches AND cake.

Remembering the jubilee tea last year, Fred plans to go to church on Saturday! .

My dad was the same Sharron, they carried me in and they will carry me out.

But if something was going free that was a different story. :-D

No good getting old if you don't get crafty!

I think that is the idea. The vicar, who would have presented it had he been at the lunch, has not seen it and there will probably be a photo- opportunity.

The old poser! No, not the vicar!

Ahhh, loving the Fred tales. Keep them coming please Sharron. I do hope that Fred is given an extra large piece of cake and lots of fuss on Saturday bless him.
He is an inspiration to us all. Definitely 94 years 'young' and crafty with it ha ha.

Sharron Report 26 Jun 2013 09:51

He's not THAT old!!!!!

He won't be 94 until November.

Extra large piece of cake? He will make very sure he has more than one piece.

Last year, at the Jubilee tea, he ate so much cake he was sick in bed that night. Now, I would say he was about eighty-five years too old to be doing that.

He will be in training for the event today. Today is Sausage Sandwich Day.

I hope you have kept all your stories of Fred. They would make a great book. But better wait until he is dead before you publish it. It might make his head too big for his hats.

The bishop is coming to the village next month. There will be sandwiches, there will be cake and, no doubt, there will be Fred the human hoover!

Merlin Report 26 Jun 2013 13:34

Have you had it fitted with "Go Faster Stripes " yet? :-D

Sharron

Sharron Report 26 Jun 2013 14:04

Go faster! Please.

It is turned up as far as it will go. In fact he has had the engineer out to turn it up. He had the poor woman legging it up and down the road while he told her it wasn't going fast enough.

Merlin

Merlin Report 26 Jun 2013 14:14

Perhaps he needs a bigger motor and Batteries, Have you thought of getting him a Milk Float? He can earn a few bob with it as well as going faster, and it would be big enough to turn into a mobile sousage vending machine. :-D :-D :-D :-D

Sharron, don't forget to give him a 'doggy bag' to take with him. These 'do's' always have loads of stuff left over......Fred may as well make the most of it... :-D

Sharron Report 26 Jun 2013 14:59

They don't seem to have any left when he goes. Funny that!
