Been having problems using this site since the changes made on Monday.

Keep getting Windows Internet Explorer provided by BT Internet - Not Responding

This means that everything freezes and I have to shut down and start again.

Did not have this problem before Monday so is it the site or my computer?

Using Windows XP and IE8

Started yesterday lunchtime and carried on into the evening - at least 5 times

Already had this problem this afternoon.

Will wait and see if any others are having similar problems before I contact the Support Team.

Also been mentioned on the Facebook page.

Yet again something new being introduced, before all the old problems have been resolved and thus adding to the faults.....

Have they not heard of 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'

And my favourite 'GiGo' Garbage in, Garbage out'

Well just puzzled.

Clicked on Find Ancestors Board - blank box where usually the adverts run at top of page and no sign of the board at all just a big grey space. Waited and nothing happened so had to hit refresh.

Will have to take a wander over to Facebook to see what is being said on there.

Just a suggestion - I know some people, but not all, have solved the problem by clearing out their cookies, history etc

Also try running IE with no add-ons (I posted how to do this on the IE9 thread I think)

If anyone needs a hand with this just shout or PM

Thanks Kay

But we should not have to switch over to NZ

Its no big deal if it saves keep getting Not Responding message........
the login via NZ is no different.once on site you would never know you wasnt logging from co.uk.

What a load of plonkers these GR Techies are.
There hasn`t been one single seamless upgrading since the Brightsolid takeover. :-(

GlitterBaby,
I`ve had this message a few times too, when it freezes...

We were unable to return you to genesreunited.co.uk.
Internet Explorer has stopped trying to restore this website. It appears that the website continues to have a problem.
What you can do:

Go to your home page

Try to return to genesreunited.co.uk

I've tried signing out and back in again (to the UK site) and it does seem to have eased the problem. I am using IE9 and Vista.

PS signing back in was a bit of a problem as it took about three goes before it fully signed me in.

I have never had a problem, either before or after changes. I wonder if it is because I only use Gooogle Chrome? BC XX

GlitterBaby

GlitterBaby Report 11 Jun 2013 16:29

Well GR seem to think that using Google Chrome sorts out all problems members are having with the site if you go by previous responses from the Team.
