Well it just has to be done.

I have given up on the house hunting !

I left with balls in the air, juggling which I preferred against which was right. and none the wiser as to what to do.
I also left with 2 unhopefuls but should I look see one was a 5bed 5bath house in the perfect area but at a price it could not be suitable, the other was a bank repo which might have been amazing even though too far out.

What did I have to lose apart from time. ? *shrugs* So I arranged to have a look at the 5bed 5bath unbelievable place on Monday 22nd April

It was unbelievable it was totally amazing fully furnished to my like that it took me 5minutes to make an offer and 30minutes to get counter offered and agreed. I even went in the next day and put the deposit down, then gave the solicitor we decided to appoint a heart attack , we did explain why and also the fact that we change the original holding contract for one of our specs.
We also agreed to allow the sellers to have a May let on there, because I didn´t at the time have a completion on Mums.

but Mums completed on the 26th April (a week early)

I became the proud and scared owner of a 5bed 5bath villa on the 30th May. Signed sealed and all mine.

by the way once I have finished with it, it will only be a 4 bed 4bath villa but the second kitchen will be fully working......Ahhhh yes I should say downstairs is 3bed 3bath ...(what I am changing) upstairs via a separate outside door is a 2bed 2bath annex.
I can´t explain the place fully or explain how lucky we have been ..nor can I explain why I kept it quiet untll the deed was done It had to be done

For the very few who have lived and breathed my worries THANKYOU I haven´t been easy

Phew, Uzzi, at last I can stop worrying that I will say something when I shouldn't lol

I am so pleased everything is signed, sealed and delivered and hope the changes you are making will go smoothly.

Can't wait to come and see the new home you are making for yourselves and your Mother, this will be whole new chapter in the story and saga of 'Mother and me!'

Thank you to everybody on this thread and on other threads where the balls were in the air and falling, I am over the moon knowing that the right house in the right area became ours,

To those of you who have had to put up with me and keep a secret because I was so scared that a member of family might try and stop the purchase, thank you does not cover what I would like to say and for once I am speechless only because I can´t find the right words :-0

Wend what can I say to you, I think, no I know I love you ahh you have been there for me over the last year, through tears and laughter even when you have had your own troubles. I also can´t wait for the house warming with you .....it could get a bit messy :-S but it will be fun :-D lol I have discovered a paella burner in the shed/cupboard so that could be amusing.

I now have the tedious and messy business of packing.......I guess I should start to do so. I haven´t even packed a single box, bag or bin-bag I was that scared of jinxing the purchase.

Uzzi, if you want a "Burner" have a chat with Kitty the Rubbish Cook that was, you,ll get a real live one there.Enjoy your New Home,may you find lots of Happiness there. :-D :-D :-D **M**. ;-)

Merlin Thanks but trust me I can burn anything without help but I may check out Kitty´s way. As an ex chef it is sooo hard convincing people I can not cook !

The great bit about the house is the upstairs does not have a full kitchen in place sooooo I get to design it :-D

Kay shhhh no I am not doing a B^B as such but I will do mega cheap rates for GR people

Well after a week of owning the house progress is being made.

Last Thursday we had the builder back in and negotiated his price without compromising my wants. We also sat in the house that day and on Friday without the previous owner "hovering" . It seemed larger than I remembered, as I had in my head the living area was really small. It also gave us a chance to go through the drawers and cupboards and discover that everything is there, as in pots, pans cutlery for 2 kitchens. and all the linen for 5 beds.

I also knew what I needed to start making it mine and wandered in to a second hand furniture shop and found not just the corner table but a matching side table for the living room and a beautiful desk to go in my den.
Time to go away and think about it.
Monday and Tuesday had me packing like a loony :-S and OH coming home from work and do a car run to drop it at the house. We are having to put it all upstairs because the builders need a clear space downstairs.

Wednesday saw the builders move in to start work an me going back and buying the furniture I loved at a knock down price and selling to them (on delivery) the twin beds out of the 5th bedroom.( at a better price than I expected ! ) . I also had a call from the builder about my hot tub. """"""PANIC""""""" no panic. I , for the same price as the 4seater tub that was ordered could have a 6seater show model for the same price and the company will throw in a flexi cover aswell as the hard top in the price. Apparently the top is scratched because it was a show model. Well who am I to say no to a deal, after all that is how we got the car we have now.

Anyway I couldn´t resist (because OH was off) going up to see the house again on Wednesday evening. The builders are halfway to putting the ramp for Mum in and have already taken out the shower in her room ready to start on the floor.
We had friends with us so we went off and had a meal out to discover the night life in the area .
All I can say is I am so very lucky ....
We also met another neighbour from behind us who shouted up to welcome us and say he was glad the the house was going to have full time and nice owners. (he said pretty and young but I will debate that I am young or OH is pretty lol ) Bless the chap he was German and struggling with English but what a lovely welcome. His wife blew kisses to us over the wall.

In the next few days the window man should go in, to turn the porch into an extra room, the electrician goes in to sort the electrics for the hot tub. Our 2 rooms become 1. So the next time I see the house I should be able to move the furniture about and move in I want to move on the 14th.

Today we went to see Mum but that is another story for another thread.

Ooh Uzzi I am as excited as you are I think. Looking forward to future instalments.

Oh Uzzi, it sounds so exciting, can't wait to see it all finished. Are you taking before and after pics?

6 seater hot tub, well I guess that German neighbour and his wife will be angling for an invite, I will practice my German with my English friend's German hubby.
They are coming over at the weekend and he will stay for a week then leave my friend here in her apartment so I can have a chance to chat with him and then with her as well as she speaks German.

So pleased you have good people around you and are making the place your own.

Let's hope your Mother appreciates all your hard work, and is happy with her domain.

Ann I am glad you are interested ..mainly because I can´t stop grinning about the place.

Liz what an amazing hot tub ..but I have to tell you I am not putting the heating on lol okay yes I will in winter. Mother bless her will not appreciate the work that I have done to get the house, nor the agro to make it ready for her, and I very much doubt that even if she did realise the work I will put in making her area hers she would thank me.
So I am not expecting anything more than a request to be taken to another family member that she hasn´t seen for 20years. She still knows how to "p" me off.
I will not rise to the bait tho' I shall crawl in my tub and let the jets wash away my cares.
