of the difficult problem we as a family had with my lovely only son, we have now had a conclusion from the CPS. I do hope no one reports this posting as I am certainly not going into detail as there are many of you who have been most supportive which is much appreciated. I did get rather over-heated at times and nearly lost the plot on here :-D

The CPS were amazing and the prosecutor dealing with it sent a personal letter to my son which he had hand delivered by the detective in charge of the case - the letter was sensitive and comprehensive and informed us that there would be no prosecution as he had to consider whether, if it got to court, there would be a guilty verdict and he felt this was unlikely. He did say however that he found my son totally believable and credible and commended him for his bravery in all this - the case will lie on file as maybe in time others may come forward

We are all happy with the outcome because if it were to go to court that could take many more months and we are now eighteen months on from the beginning and quite frankly had had enough

The prosecutor advised my son that he would be more than happy to meet with him and answer any questions he may have, adding that nothing would change his decision - my son is not taking him up on the offer

All in all we are content and pleased with the fact that the guy's life as he knew it is in tatters now - disowned by his family and thrown out of the services over this

I was pleasantly surprised at how sensitive and caring the CPS have been in all this, also the police

If anyone wishes to know more they can send me a message, but in the meantime, thank you to all who have been so supportive

I think that as long as all who are concerned are content with the outcome then that has to be good news.

Don't really know what else to say as I'm not great with words in situations like this. Just hope you can all move on together as a family ...stronger and closer than ever.

thanks Ann and Muffy - it's a relief - forgot to say, the CPS informed us that they are dealing with this person regarding other unrelated matters, so a bad egg all round it seems

It's a resolution after many years of distress.

I really do hope your son can accept what happened wasn't his fault and the scum involved suffers. Plus you, as a Mother, can start to put some of your anger and hurt in a box and hide it somewhere.

Me and him

well Lawrence been gone for over ten years now and like me, was unware of what had occurred, so there's just me, Philip and my lovely daughter in law, and we are strong together - thank goodness his Dad never knew, it would have killed him
