When I first started looking for one branch of my family, in Guernsey, I hit a brick wall, because I had been led to believe that no census records existed. Imagine my surprise when I accidentally clicked a button on a website (I don't remember which) and found myself on the Ancestry website, who offered details of the Channel Islands censuses, the same as in England and Wales. |
