Well...................thanks to my new kitchen and a heck of a lot of practise, I am almost a good cook now :-D

Apart from getting fromage frais and creme fresh muddled up when I made a chicken pie that is *shudders*

I have a lot more confidence now and enjoy being in the kitchen *sighs happily*

Am I normal????? *worries*

xx

Kitty, Hi.
My husband is busy installing our new kitchen as I speak (and making a right messy meal of it!)
I'm looking forward to getting in there and playing with my new things, the all -singing-all-dancing microwave, and the pyrolitic oven, which will hopefully painlessly remove the burnt on messes of my endeavours.
Yes, I just might be a decent cook, too!

*sobs bitterly.......I remember those happy days when you were KittyTheRubbishCook....why oh why do folks have to change? Why it would be like Hayley saying she had taken up knitting or counselling, fgs,,,,, :-D :-D <3

Lynda maybe you and Kitty could have a cooking contest? Sort of Monsterchef....... Sorry :-D

Hello Lynda

I can't work the microwave, it scares me!!

I have an electric double oven and gas hob, bread maker, slow cooker and George Foreman grill machine thingy( that is a bit complicated) *sighs*

I don't quite know what happened, but as the inheritance money from Mum paid for the kitchen, I think the thought that she was such an amazing cook and I was so hopeless inspired me to be better in the kitchen :-D

Ooh and hello to BC and Ann too <3 <3

I still have disasters..........flat yorkshires, liquid centred cakes etc, but all in all I am slowly improving. ;-)

Mmm.... ithink my new microwave will scare me, too. Its a Sharp, and it's HUGE! Hopefully, Hubby will manage to work it out. I got rid of the George Foreman grill - gidn't like it.

Like the idea of Monsterchef, Ann!

You be carefu in that kitchen. You wouldn't want to create smoke and attract a lot of firemen round now would you?

N.B You can't half make a lot of smoke with toast.

Awwww I agree with BC after how many kitchens and 50 yrs of marriage and now you get the 'ang of it :-(

You giving me instructions on how to make cheese sauce is the funniest thing I have ever read on here I save it to cheer me up :-D

Speaking of cheese sauce...................it's really really hard to push it through a sieve :-(

Oh and my poor husband still won't let me make my own yorkshires, the frisbies I made last week have covinced me that Aunt Bessie still reigns supreme in our house :-D

Last time I made Toad in the Hole, I thought that extra strong bread flour would make the batter rise beautifully ........ it was like a brick! He still ate it, though - he'll eat anything, thank goodness. :-D
