The day the little boy was blown in front of me one of my colleaguea was sitting in a queue of stationary traffic when both the vehicle in front and the one behind were blown over by a freak gust.

Please stop squabbling over detail.I don't like to read it and I doubt anybody else does.

I agree Sharron. It's not a subject to pick argument's over, and why do these threads always resort to mindless point scoring?

Sharron, I too think its a tragic accident but if you don't want other comments then don't add more info than is required or speculation to your post, eg This is so sad and the van driver has been arrested for causing death by dangerous driving, He was not arrested for "causing death by dangerous driving" he was arrested on "suspicion" and "But wind comes in sudden gusts,it can blow over high lorries without warning". Which is simply not the case, you get gusts of wind on a windy day nothing sudden about it

Point scoring? Not from my point of view,

when something is posted and i have anything to say/add to that post then i will say it, if you want to take that as point scoring then thats up to you but i try to add by way of debate on the content posted, I was not aware that points where awarded

Roy, you know it is nothing to do with that at all.

Nobody really cares whether somebody was driving an artic that weighed four tons or four hundred so please don't try to turn it back on me.

I don't know how that poor mother will cope, knowing she left the buggy unattended even if only for a few seconds will haunt her for the rest of her life.

I feel sorry for the driver too, it's not something you expect and if you are concentrating on driving conditions and happen to be looking to your left for example and this buggy and child are blown to your right it would be a delayed reaction when it came into your view, to stop.

Rest in peace, little one and also the poor girl killed by the dogs, again someone in the wrong place at the wrong time, her friend popped out leaving the girl with the dogs and for some reason they attacked her, whether before or after she fell to the floor. We take safety for granted sometimes, and tragic accidents happen.

The poor child is dead. The mother blames herself. The driver will never forgive himself even though there was nothing he could do.
It was a tragic accident due to unforeseen circumstances.
That´s exactly what accidents are.
