Being friends, and letting him think that something was his 'good idea' first ;-)

i often think i come from the age of mend whats broken
instead of throwing things away :-D

Be friends with each other
Have a sense of humour
Work through problems together
Admit when it is your fault.
Forgive when it isn't
Never lose the love in the relationship.
Talk
Have some interests of your own.
Share some interests
never go to sleep angry with each other &
Never go your separate ways in the day angry with each other.


Those are in no particular order but it has worked for 52 years. :-)

we always joke and say
the only reason we stayed together was because
he dosent want to be left with the kids
and i wasnt been left with them either (they are now in their 30s) lol

but really we love them to bits
mind theres nothing better than grandkids
all the fun and less of the hard work

Always say we have a love/hate relationship, he loves me and i hate him!

Seriously - laughter,friendship, like others here, let him think the suggestion was his in the first place, say ' love you' once a day, each have 'me' time, understanding and listening.

He is to make the major decisions, I to make the less important ones - have'nt been any major decisions so far :-D

my hubby never comes in the lounge he always sits in the kitchen
and because of this i always call him the butler
where as he calls me God
ive heard him when we have people in doing jobs and they ask
where we want something or how we want somthing done

he says go in the room and ask God how she wants it
or you wont nhear the last of it ;-) ;-)

That is a funny - different things for different people but I think you want separate interests, rather than the same.

Whether the flag flown in your house is the Union Jack or the Union Jill, don't flaunt it.

No idea..lolol we are polar opposites except for one thing - our love of our children. We have been together for 35 years so something has worked :-D

Why did I marry him you may ask ?? ....well he was an Officer in Uniform and had nice shiny shoes .......so I felt a chill of quiver in my spine & tummy .....that was 48years ago , the chill has gone now........but he's still with me ;-)
