If I was untidy when I was a child my Mum would say:

You look like you've been dragged through a hedge backwards..... or
You look like the wreck of the Hesperus.

If I or anyone looked miserable she'd say:
You've got a face like the back of a bus!.... or
Your face would turn the milk sour.

Add yours please.

My hair still has a life of it's own and so has my poor daughter :-(.

My gran used to tell my aunt she looked like a sack of potatoes tied up ugly.
Brummies were never known for their tact

my bedroom was a midden lol

I was skinny (very) until I got to my twenties. Was told I looked like "a long drink of water", whatever that means- a drip??

You look miserable :-( you get told to put a smile on your face and cheer up. But if you smile, you are asked what you've been up to :-D .

It's a no-win situation. :-P

Having to run about in a shower to get wet.
Seen more meat on a butchers pencil.

Not first in line when it came to handing out good looks.

My Granma used to say of my shoes (not huge but bigger than my elder sister's) that they were like shuggy boats....and my extremely thick hair was like "Haggie's rope".......local rope makers on the Tyne.....charming :-S ....and I used to be so embarrassed :-( :-D

Okay for those of a sensitive nature look away now.

Colleague who didn't like me.

"Jill you have a f***-off face. I see you and want you to f***-off".

At least I wasn't a right slapper who went after anything in a uniform in the hope of getting them out of it. :-D

This thread has really made me chuckle :-D Reminds me of a saying my dear old granny used to say.
If anyone looked scruffy, she used to say,
she looks like a 4penny ham bone.
I suppose she meant not very well dressed,or not colour matched.
My granny was a very smart lady.bless her. <3 <3
