Wend - the other thing you can do if the back arrow etc has disappeared is to move the mouse pointer up to where you last saw them & they should miraculously appear again. This is useful if you want to go back without coming out of full-screen-mode.

A few years ago I designed a virtual keyboard help thingy for people on here which meant you clicked on a key and it told you what it would do. I did it as a webpage so you could bookmark it for reference - I will see if I can find it again if it is of any use although I fear I may have lost it.

SueCar - it is not complicated - you can design a webpage in things like Word but then you need to "publish" it to the www and have a url for it - plenty of free sites for that

ErrolSheep - all very illuminating and informative, thanks. Did you do your little sheep avatar perchance? If so, I would like to know how you did that if it's not too complicated to explain to a technophobe like me :-D

SueCar - thanks. I knew if I moved my mouse pointer up they would appear - it just didn't feel comfortable not to have me bits on display, so to speak :-D

Wend I did it freehand on the computer- I use a graphics tablet which makes it really easy to do but you could do it with a mouse - just use something like Paint or better still Gimp and save it as a jpeg. I use other software but they cost a fair bit and you can design an avatar using any simply painting programme. If you want more info on how to do it easily let me know and I will gladly talk you through it.

yes like my 4 key has $ sign euro sign and a slope + sign
3 key has£ and a slope - sign
2 key has " and a thingy looks like a big brother eye
1 key has ! and a different big brother eye..

This should apply to most keyboards but some may differ.

The icons that look like eyes are for zooming in and out. You access them by holding down the FN key (probably towards the bottom left corner of your keyboard). If you are on your desktop they will increase/decrease the size of your desktop icons. In Internet Explorer and other programmes such as Paint they can be used for zooming in and out. They can also be used to increase/decrease the font size in some applications.

The icons on the 3 and 4 keys are for decreasing or increasing the volume. Again, access them by holding down the FN key.

To access the Euro sign (€) hold down the AltGr key (probably to the right of your spacebar).
