I had kind of hoped I would be watching live coverage of this for most of the day.

I'm watching it, my gt gts were lightermen and watermen on the Thames, and soft as it may sound I feel quite 'connected' to the river pageant today :-D I'd quite like to have gone, but probably a better view on telly.

son just phoned me - very excited - watching BBC1 coverage of the Jubilee events [surprise to me that he's watching it] and they've just been to his road in York for a street party - the house is rented out now and they live near me but it's good to see the house again!!! Hollybank Road, York

"The formal river procession will be between 2pm and 6pm, starting upriver of Battersea Bridge and finishing downriver of Tower Bridge. The boats will muster between Hammersmith and Battersea and disperse from Tower Bridge to West India Docks."

You know, what does she do if she needs to be um, comfortable, while she should be on view to her 'adoring' subjects? its a long time to have to cross your legs and elderly ladies do need to keep hydrated ;-)

AnnCardiff Report 3 Jun 2012 14:01

there's probably a royal chamber

You're probably right.

But to be serious, if someone had been waiting for hours to see them, they might be a bit peeved if Her Maj had nipped off out of sight!

Funny the things you think about at times :-0

There was something about the loo on the barge on radio in the week - she will not have to cross her legs!

Didn't spot that Ann - probably during one of my breaks - lol

Apart from then, she or Philip don't seem to have sat down once.

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 3 Jun 2012 17:41

pity the guy who wrecked the University Boat Race didn't try his tricks today - he would have been shot with a bit of luck :-D

I hope the Queen's wearing a vest, cos I'm freezing and I'm in the house!!

What a trooper Her Majesty is....absolutely brilliantly done today...despite the rain. Proud to be British x

Mauatthecoast Report 3 Jun 2012 19:48

I absolutely loved it all and thought Queen and Phillip did well to stand as long as they did. The parade of boats was a tremendous sight :-D

Pity about the rain in London and I felt soo sorry for the singers at the end...bet their hair was lovely beforehand.

Hard to believe I know but up here on the NE coast, although we had light rain earlier, the sun shone and now we have beautiful blue skies... :-D

Sharron

Sharron Report 3 Jun 2012 19:51

I did watch it. Didn't that coat the queen was wearing look like a dressing gown?

Wasn't very impressed with the commentaries. David Dimbleby would have done it splendidly. When he does the Remembrance Day service it is very evident that he has taken time to research his subject but the commentaries today were not very informative.

That was a pity because it was a wonderful pageant.

Amazing That she managed to stand for so long & Philip too.

Loved the Cornish fisherman singers...Why oh why did the flipping commentators have to talk over them...?

The new baby at St Thomas's was gorgeous his parents looked very proud.
How did his mother look so good after giving birth that morning?

Took me months and don't think I ever looked that good :-S :-( :-D
