From the Swan Sanctuary site...

Is it true that a swan's wing can break your arm?

Yes, but only in exceptional cases. If a wing in full span and velocity were to hit a weak-boned person (such as a child or an elderly person) then it is theoretically possible. In reality it is almost unheard of and is never used as a form of attack as swans are a defensive bird. The only time they become aggressive is when they are protecting their nesting ground or cygnets when they will chase off intruders, be they other swans, geese or humans who get too close.

I hate the "share to save this child from abuse" type posts which spread like wildfire on FB, normally showing a child with bruises.

For a start at least one of these said posts, the picture isn't of the child in the story, but another unrelated child who got their injuries accidently & the picture used without consent.

I also hate the ones posted asking for likes regarding a child's terminal illness,& that the likes make a difference these are often started by attention seekers, who feel the need to have the post liked by the world & his budgie.

Pet hate is the one "Like if you think shes beautiful" picture of a little bald girl suffering cancer. Its sick, it wont change things & the childs photo is being exploited for the ego of all who starts it off & those who feel the should click like.

I wish people would check with sites such as Snopes or Hoaxslayer.before spreading some of these these posts willy nilly. :-| :-| :-|

Some myths start from the childrens' comic books in the 1950s where exposure to a tiny bit of nuclear radiation can turn a human into an alien monster with superhuman powers.

Much loved and believed by Green Party members.

I hate the emails spouting hate towards immigrants and refugees. These spread resentment towards anyone entering the country (I'm talking about Australia). One email that continues to do the rounds tells of the most outrageous benefits that refugees get on their arrival to our shores. Apparently a car, a house and twice the welfare benefits that citizens of the country are given. I'm also amazed when it is someone who is normally intelligent and compassionate who passes these emails on.

Mildred I also hate those emails that exploit children.

Cant see any reason why it wouldnt work. Maybe you could try standing on one leg and rubbing olive oil in your hair whilst doing it? I mean, it might just need a little bit extra oomph to work, who knows.

What about the one where you run round a grave three times shouting 'Eric has a big nose and smells' and your premium bond that you have had since you were born will come up, provided the tide is out and it's raining? Or am I getting mixed up....hmmmmm.
