Our site opens this week-end officially, and yesterday
we had a trip out as it was such a lovely day. We have
never towed so static works for us.
Anyone else enjoy this type of holiday and are you getting
ready for the season to start?

I think caravanning holidays are going to be more common over the next ten years due to the economic problems we have,

I used to in the 1970's hire one for holidays because at that time i could not justify buying one and only using it one a year,

However things have changed over the years and that you can get your moneys worth out of buying one now,

I think you can have good holidays both hear and in Europe

My last holiday in Turkey cost me nearly 6k plus spending money

You can but a good second hand caravan for anything from abt 3k depending on your neads

Dame thing posted with out me clicking on the submit button

As i was saying,
So caravanning can be a very good and cheaper alternative,

I have my own 4 birth and i use it all year round as and when i want to go away, I mostly take mine over to France as i have friends their but still go just for weekends away all over the British isles

I agree Porkie Pie whether a static van or touring.
OH noticed yesterday when out at our van quite
a few new ones this year. All were second hand
except one which I believe cost a pretty penny.
Like you for use 7months a year a second hand
is fine.

Just got last bit Roy, have a good time this year.

Von I'm sure you will have a good holiday,
just getting away from it all is great, in either
a tent, motorhome or whatever. Must say
there is a massive Winnebago parked up
near where we live and I wouldn't say no
to that but OH has palpitations at the thought
of driving a thing that size and would never do
it anyway. :-D

We were away in our caravan in the Feb half term in Brighton Emma. We woke up on the first morning to -5 degrees. It was that cold snap we had.

Off again in June to Sussex and August to Pembrokeshire.

Our van is heated and warmer than our house at times!

MOTOR HOMES ARE GOOD BUT YOU NEED ANOTHER FORM OF TRANSPORT BECAUE OF HEIGHT/WIDTH RESTRICTIONS

'Emma' Report 28 Mar 2012 14:20

Teresa you hardy critter you :-D
Hope you have a warmer summer lol.
Must say our van is cosy also if we happen to get
a cold day (which is hardly heard of in Aberdeenshire) LOL

Dizzi OH agrees with you and he couldn't be bothered with
hitching up and visa versa.

Julia Report 28 Mar 2012 14:21

We have spent many happy hours over the years, caravaning, either on our own, or years ago, with the children. Much prefer it to Hotels etc. No restrictions, eat when you like, sleep when you like, and come in when you like. Can't beat it.

Touring vans are great, especially if you have children, when I had mine I used to go away most weekends in it,not so much in winter, but as soon as the weather picked up off we would go. :-D
