Hmmm don't think we had boy bands when I was in my teens. :-(

Julia

Julia Report 26 Feb 2012 11:58

AnninGlos, Ha,ha, I was just going to add something similar. Bands in my days were rather larger in numbers, and they were calle Dance Bands.eg. Victor Sylvesta, Joe Loss, Edmundo Ross, Xavier Cugat and his Rumba Bumba Rand, The Dorsey Brothers. And of course, Glenn Millar who could forget his music. Although they made their music before 'my time' it was all ways about. And then Mantovani, Richard Clayderman as the more modern ones. He,he. Still love their music today, but i am from the 'Dance' era.

The Bay City Rollers, I remember pestering my mum to buy me some jeans with tartan bottoms :-0
Later on Depeche Mode, Duran Duran and then when my daughters were growing up Boyzone, Westlife, Back Street Boys and A1, lol.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 26 Feb 2012 12:21

It doesn't mean I didn't like later groups/bands but yes Julia, loved Glenn Miller and still do. the pop scene as it is now didn't really exist in the 50s, although we did have rock and roll, Elvis etc. We were not devoid of music.

GlitterBaby

GlitterBaby Report 26 Feb 2012 14:35

Four Tops

How could you forget them

Julia

Julia Report 26 Feb 2012 14:40

No GlitterBaby, I was not forgetting them. They came when I was in my early 20's. Four Tops, Drifters, Frankie Valley and the Four Seasons. In fact anything that came out of Mowtown. Was really into Disco dancing in a big way. Still would be if I could move to that beat, and was steady on me pins. LOLOL
