Silly Sausage

Silly Sausage Report 19 Feb 2012 09:50

Not a big TV fan, but I am actually a bit excited about tonights...

Call the midwife at 8.30 and then Upstairs Downstairs @ 9.30

My Mum used to watch Upstiars Downstairs in the 70's I wasnt a fan then, I was too young I just thought they was all miserable and boring, apart from the young maid Sarah (Pauline Collins). It wasnt till a few years ago when the series were repeated all the series on cable that I became hooked.

Morning Hayley, yes, I am looking forward to tonights line up as you have mentioned. There is also an episode of Coronation Street at 8.00, before Call the Midwife. This has to be the best for me for a Sunday. I have already got the ice cubes freezing ready for my G&T. Manna from heaven LOLOL

I like both these and I did watch the Upstairs Downstairs series first time round. I shall have to watch them both on catch up though as we have the skating and wild at heart on.

Morning Ladies <3

Julia I don't watch the soaps anymore Ginny I liked the 1st series of WAH but sort lost interest after that.

BC, yes thats the one was the fella with a moustache Captain James ? What a cad he was, got Sarah pregnant so they sent him off to Inida, he was a bit of a wet lettuce.

Downtown got slated a bit as all the servants look so clean and tidy, but if you remember Ruby never did.

I'll be watching it all on iplayer tomorrow as OH just makes sarky comments and nit picks........prefer to watch it in peace while doing my ironing the next day lol x

JustGinnie

JustGinnie Report 19 Feb 2012 10:14

That's why I prefer to watch it on catch up as my OH talks through programmes as well, except sport . :-D

Ginnie get your own back like I do, he is passionate about his footy so whilst he is ranting and raving at the telly I say things like "what are they singing?" Why are they booing him, isnt that .............normally about this point I am banished from the room and informed Muffy wants me. :-D

I may watch it, but the trailers put me off - don't know why, just sometimes a trailer really grips you, and sometimes it makes you think 'that looks like a load of soppy old c**p' :-D

Morning peeps. yes i remember upstairs downstairs in the 70's. my grandparents watched it and so we were allowed to stay up late and watch it too. i thought it was lovely and so looking forward to seeing it tonight.

bit sad that call the midwife is coming to an end. it makes me laugh to look at the styles of the mums and terrible to see them smoking at the clinic with bump in tow. Can you imagine that still happening today, i think not.!

yes sunday night has become worth watching again :-)
