Let's put it this way then....I think my oldest would love to live on your coast not ours !!
Now we have to choose his courses for next year.......and he's reaching really high which is good but will he cope or be swamped ?!
Interestingly enough he wants to study Canadian law amongst other things....maybe there is a brain waking up in there somewhere....maybe the theft was a good thing after all !!

no report cards on this side ...... teachers are not on strike, but are only doing teaching, not administration

think many students might be very happy :-D

Hi Sylvia,
there's worse things happen at sea !!
He'll live and maybe just maybe he'll do some school work now rather than sit there glued to the bloody thing......reports cards were just out need I say more =0)

sorry to hear about this, Caroline!

Thanks everyone.
As for his phone, he pays for that himself every month $20 from his grass cutting in the summer and snow clearing in the winter - though not much of that this year...yet ! He knows if he can't pay it one month he's lost it....tough again....sure but it teaches him to budget his money.

Just a thought!!

Might not look too attractive but maybe scratching - Property Of - and a few details on expensive items may be offputting to potential thieves (harder to sell on)

Although mother always said "if they want it bad enough they will take label and all"

Tough lesson to learn though, sorry for your lad
:-(

My 15 year old had hers stolen a couple of weeks ago from the changing rooms, there were others laying about but picked hers??

I asked her if she takes her phone to school a (Blackberry) yep she does??? If she looses it she will not get another from me but I will still have to pay for her contract...She has a weekend job so perhaps she ought to put money by for these unfortunate things that happen at school these days.

Or perhaps they will learn school is not the place for them unless they are locked away in a secure locker

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree often no doubt.
I'd like to think I'd notice if one of my kids turns up with something, in fact my youngest has done swaps a couple of times at school and I know it wasn't fair........one child did much better than the other....so I contacted the mother and sorted it out. They were young enough that I think it was very innocent....hopefully !

I often wonder what the "thief's" parents think when their little angel turns up with a mobile phone/ipod/anything else which they must know their child hasn't come by honestly. They must be just as bad themselves!!

Canada.....ours is a good school but the police are based there by request....eg to stop this sort of thing happening !!
Actually it means we've had no gun crime in our school which is good.

Ah but it is possible that somebody knows somebody who saw somebody. You are obviously not in UK, if you were the police probably wouldn't be interested.

Caroline

Caroline Report 13 Feb 2012 21:40

House insurance - Our deductable is $500 so no point as it's "only" $200 plus tax
Police will be asking them all but odds of them saying "it's a fair cop guv" small....can't just and check their bags these days

Right kids to feed I'm off have a nice night

AnninGlos Report 13 Feb 2012 21:23

Pity! Sounds like somebody knew what they were looking for. But certainly everyone who used the locked room should be questioned by police.

Kay????

Kay???? Report 13 Feb 2012 21:21

is it covered by any house insurance?

The ipod doesn't have a provider as such, and from what I can gather no Apple doesn't do anything. He used it for games and music, and school notes when he ran out of paper !! His phone was in his pocket and we can stop that if it gets stolen, and is only a pay as you go monthly contract.
He had it locked in a room, but I'm questioning how many people had keys to the room....kids doing the audio/lights for the stage.
That said someone had a laptop taken from their locker somehow at the same time, can't work out how that was taken either....police are looking into it.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 13 Feb 2012 21:13

Can his provider not put a block on it? I thought they could when they are stolen. My OH buys broken phones on E*** and fiddles with them to mend them. He has had a couple that were stolen, obviously been broken when somebody fiddled with them to try and make them work they come up with limited service if you try to use them. So maybe you need to report it to the provider.

You feel sad for them when they learn a hard lesson though don't you. It should not be that they can't take things to school, did he leave it in his locker or something?

Caroline

Caroline Report 13 Feb 2012 20:47

Well I thought the passcode did just that...but now I'm told it's quite easy to reset it....pointless !!
Agree Kay you should be able to take what you want where you want...but in the real world.....
Bring back hanging I say !! =0)
