I've had my heating on 24/7 for about 10 days now.
Not so cold today..about +4 now but has been about -3.
No snow so far,had enough last year.

I'm not having a BBQ.. might give that a miss lol

It wont snow....cause I bought new wellies, really thick gloves and yacktrax . Also bought for the first time, thermal vests for myself...which i have been wearing.

I dont like it when the bill come in but,I dont like being cold.
Living in an old house takes ages to heat so it is as well to leave it on. i was on solid for about 7 weeks last winter and we still had a frozen pipe.

I really miss not having a gas fire as a boaster,we have one of these coal effect convector fires, just gives me a sore head.

I have a wooden floor with a big rug and I am planning to have a carpet fitted again.

yes getting the bill is always painful,:-S
the only pipe of mine to freeze is the upstiars sink pipes
im going from carpet to flooring this year not looking forward to it,
i only need my heating on half an hour and it heats up not to bad, but goes cold pretty quick soon as i turn it of,

i havent got a fire had it took out, but getting a plasma one somtimes this yr, mind, i had my fire on only twice in 2 yr when i had one, when my heating was broke, lol

*bows to public pleading and puts clothes back on. I put my heating on low and leave it on all day and give it a boost when needed. My flat is very old but very warm and am surrounded by buildings which keeps the wind out. I hate being cold! :-D

with snow on the forecast we are encouraged to travel with a can full of petrol, a torch, a spade, a warm blanket, some food, salt and a mobile phone. Well to be honest I felt a right twit on the bus this morning!!!

**Ann**

**Ann** Report 9 Feb 2012 15:15

Hello Ann.........I am in North Wales just near the Eng border 10 miles from Chester.....but we are quite high up here and seem to always get the worst of any bad winter weather. I was down your neck of the woods last week staying at the Premier Inn Bridgend Central and it was bleedy snowing then!!

MarionfromScotland

MarionfromScotland Report 9 Feb 2012 15:36

Ann....I really liked my gas fire.It was a baxi bermuda back boiler/fire.Was about 24 yr old so we got a new boiler.
With all the regulations etc on gas fires etc it meant a lot of work on the chimney etc. So we opted for for the electric.

The next time we go to do that room up,I'm going to look into it again. The room could do with a make over :-D
Even my Oh said he misses the gas fire.
