Harry will definitely take the job if offered it, its what he does. Saying "Good luck to whoever gets it" and "He's happy at Tottenham" mean nothing.
He was happy at Southampton lol, he was happy at Portsmouth lol etc, etc.
He is the best man for the job although I have to agree with Foggy :-D

If Daniel Levy has any sense he'd have been building up some cash just in case the court case didn't go Harry's way...and making a few overtures here and there for possible replacements......Mind you..knowing our luck.... we'd have probably ended up with David Pleat til the end of the season on the cheap *groans*

maybe he could consider adding the compensation cash from the FA to the pot and getting Mourinho in......I really wouldn't be satisfied with anyone less than him if we REALLY have to lose Harry.

Levy has already said it would cost the FA dearly...and I hope he doesn't sell us short.

Harry is a diamond....he dragged us back from the brink and I'll always be grateful to him whatever he decides to do x

At the moment Harry has enough on his mind,Just getting himself back to normal after the stupid court case.

Don't forget Harry has another 18 months at Spurs and it will cost the FA a hell of a lot of money to prise him away from Spurs.

Don't think it matters who manages the England team, wont make a scrap of difference, they are still crap.

Would hate Harry to go from Spurs but wouldnt blame him.
The England team should have an english manager. How can a foreign manager have the interest of england football at heart. ;-)

Stan Report 9 Feb 2012 15:40

He wont turn down a job like that ,and it will keep the tax man happy

Muffyxx

Muffyxx Report 9 Feb 2012 13:11

He has to say that so he doesn't unsettle the team. :-(

No one wants Arry to stay more than me...but I don't think it's going to happen :-S

I'd be very surprised if he didn't Sue...

He's not long recovered from a heart op and the more part time aspects of it would suit his health a lot better than the weekly grind of the premiership.

I would LOVE him to stay more than anything...but I think if he's offered it he's gone :-(

Muffy, have you thought Harry may not want the job as seemingly it looks as if whoever gets the job has to Kowtow to the FA all the time.

Can't see Harry doing that.

Muffyxx

Thank you Sue :-D

I fear it's only delaying the inevitable though :-( :-(

I have one small point to make about John Terry. In any other job, you would be suspended pending investigation for any misdemeanour during the course of your work...why is this any different.

My only objection is that the FA should have done it immediately, not later.

Re. the England manager. We may be crap as a team, but I do believe that is down to poor foreign managers. How can an italian manager motivate the England team if they are playing Italy? We need a British manager who can retain that pride in the shirt, and pick the right players instead of the same old line-up. I do believe Harry is the man to do that.

I'm not a football fan [rugby me] but why on earth have a manager who cannot converse with his team? ridiculous

 Sue In Yorkshire.

Sue In Yorkshire. Report 9 Feb 2012 08:48

Well Why should the FA (certainly not for football association) take the decision to take the captaincy off John Terry,.they are making it out that he is guilty of all charges even before the court case.

I would have thought they should have the common sense to hold fire and at least discuss with Capello what would be the best option for the captaincy.

This strikes of WE are in charge and you will do as WE want not what you think should be done.

They should get rid of the Dinosaurs from the FA and get some young blood in but please NOT Beckham.
The FA have already told Arsene Wenger that he isn't wanted as England Manager.

So If they give the job to Redknapp I hope he has enough spine to tell them to go to hell if anything goes wrong ie like the debacle of J Terry's captaincy.

I hate racism in any form and it must be stamped out.

Cath2010

Cath2010 Report 9 Feb 2012 07:00

Muffy is spot on about the dinosaurs at the FA.
Was it right to strip John Terry of the captaincy before he's been found guilty? I can't abide racism of any sort and if found guilty John Terry fully deserves punishment.
Harry Redknapp is definitely the one to wake up the England team from their slumber.
Capello has wanted out for some time and certainly picked his
moment ;-)
