I'm playing with the idea of Oxford, though maybe when the weather is more settled, I visited it about 30 years ago and would love to go back. It's quite direct from here and the youth hostel looks good right by the station so that's a possible for an overnight stay at least.

Suzanne, definitely a warmer weather destination lol, I have been there once lol when I was about 9 on a school trip to Beumaris :-) but family used to go there many many years ago, to Rhosneigr I think?

Mersey love Muncaster castle at rhododendron time. Love the owl centre too.

Muncaster Castle was shown on Michael Portillo's "Great British Railway Journey" show this week. It looked absolutely stunning and well worth a visit.

anninglos I am in south near Cirencester so close enough to Stow in the wold, Bourton on the water and just a short distance to Cotswold wildlife park a place I would definately recommend to anyone visiting. I'll be going to York in June( for dolls house fair) and this is another place I'd advise people to visit

beaumaris is aout 11m away from me and rhosneigr is about 6miles .and we have the lovely trearddur bay,about two miles away and where my daughter is getting married in aug this year. lots of lovely places to visit in summer,but dont come here in winter because its horrible.x :-D :-D

Love the cotswolds .have stayed lower slaughter .& Bourton -on -the -water .Willersey .havent been for a few yrs .it did get busy especialy Bourton ,there is a priory at minster loval & there was the Black Swan pub & Restaurant. not far from Witney .Barbra x
