I'm going to do a 'Futtocks End' to Prickles tomorrow. If anyone saw that film with Ronnie Barker in the 70's, they'll know what I mean. I laughed so much, I nearly wet myself!

Happy New Year to Mummo, Suzanne, Jude and Prickles and, Julia, may your 2012 Christmas sprouts be small and sweet! :-D

Edit to add - unfortunately Youtube doesn't show the bit I'm referring to :-(

Yes Wend., it is very exciting. We have our Christmas at the end of Jan., when the seed potatoes are in our favourite Garden Centre. I have hardly had the chance to go there this year, and I am getting 'withdrawl' symptoms. So roll on.
Have a lovely New Year, and all the best for 2012.

Yes, Mau, I forget to mention your lovely poem. Again, my very best wishes to you all for a happy and healthy 2012.

Julia, I'm going to be tucked up in bed early with me seed catalogues, which have been plopping through my letterbox over the past few days. Exciting, eh? :-D :-D :-D

Hi Ann and thank you

I do hope you and your family have a better year than last. I'd like to wish your daughter all the good luck in the world.
As you say it's hard to be positive but chin up and I sincerely hope everything turns out well for her.

A Happy and healthy New year to you all and thank for the poem Mau, very good.

I am very much hoping that 2012 will be better than 2011 for us as we lost too many friends this year. Healthwise we ourselves are fine but the year has ended with a kick in the rear end for our family with our daughter waiting to hear results so it is hard to be positive. However we are trying to be so.

We do usually stay up and drink in the New Year even on our own and this year will be no different. I like the thought of a new year, new start but have always thought it is a bit of an anti climax really. However if you are celebrating, have a great time.
:-) :-) :-)

Nollaig, I'm so glad the year has been kind to you, you deserve it.
If you want depressing reading, I'll send you me bank statements LOL
I think this year for us has been the worst in living memory, in so many ways, but I look forward to 2012 with enthusiasm.
There are so many worse off than me, so I should not moan. The families of both Our Daff and Posh, and I learned that an old schooldfriend from over 60 years, has recently lost her husband.
My Best friend's husband, a normally fit ex-military man, has Cancer in three places. But she is very optimistic.
Yes, I have alot to be thankful for.
I didn't set out for this post to be a' downer'. What am I like.
Yes Hayley, I think you have mentioned your holiday, once or twice, and I hope you enjoy it.
And Mau, thank you for putting this thread up.
May I take this opportunity to wish yourself, and all the other GR Members

A Happy New Year.

Julia in Derbyshire

PS. It will be bed at 10.00, with a wee dram, and a good book. Age catches up with us all sometimes.

I have no feelings whatsoever about New Years Eve. I always think it is a false kind of celebration, when people think they SHOULD be out there partying! On the other hand I find it helpful for recharging batteries, new beginnings, plans etc etc

I shall be a little sad to see the end of this year as it has been such a wonderful one and I feel the old Universe has been very kind to me. May his benevolence continue in bucketloads in the New Year.... for me and you and yours.. <3 <3 BC XX
