If she's called as a witness then she'll give evidence on oath so will have to tell the truth.

If he gets away with it who knows what he'll do next? So they may well continue with the prosecution to protect other women.

Meryl your friend is in a nightmare, even if the police prosecute she needs to go to court and I for one do not blame her for NOT going ..but if the police want to prosecute this chap they will regardless to what she wants (been there done that) . They will protect her if need be but be careful

I was attacked by partner been ex since my eldest boy was 10 when my oldest kids where 8 and 4 I never did anything about it if I had he might not have attacked our son when he was 10 so u have to think of what might happen to others and protect them
It does affect the children when they see there mother attacked so u have to show it is not right to asault some one

Meryl, Sadly it may be a "One Off" for your friend, but there may be others who had or may have him do the same to them.He needs a lesson to remind him its not the thing to do,Either by the Law, or a Big Brother or friend. **M**.

I thought I would give an update on this story.
Friend gave evidence at court yesterday against her ex partner and he was found guilty! So relieved for her.
The court wants a report on him before sentencing, din't know what that means? Would I be right to assume he is still on bail conditions until sentencing?

I think so Meryl, maybe it is a social workers report or a psychological report to see what sort of punishment will be best for him (i.e. anger management, will he do it again etc).
