Listened to a programme on the local radio the other day, about bedjackets. Are they just an old ladies thing. Must say I have never had one, as I have never felt the need for one. Even in hospital it is unnecessary for me, as it is too bleedy hot, and I always ask for a bed with a window view.
Just a thought.

I have used them in the past, and still have one I knitted my Mum, brought it back from her house after she died, altho I haven't worn it. If you are unwell and just need something round your shoulders while you sit up in bed to eat or watch tv etc, they come in very handy.

I wore mine when I was in my 30's, it was handy when I was sitting up in bed feeding my baby son too.

I am sure i posted this yesterday.........but it seems to have vanished!!

I bought my Mum two beautiful bed jackets during her stay at a Hospice.

Occasionally, some of her night wear would go missing! :-(

A couple called in one day to visit their Mum.

"Oooo Mum" said the daughter "you do look pretty today"
I didn't have the heart to say....." Well yes, she does look pretty today cos she's wearing my Mum's bleddy bed jacket!!"

Bless. :-D

If I am watching television in bed I might wear a cardigan.

Those blankets with sleeves in are a bit expensive but I have a long cardigan which has never had much wear as I always felt it was too long, made me feel like Marty Feldman. If I put that on back to front it does the job just as well.

I have a couple of thin fleeces I use as bedjackets. They're a lot cheaper and can be washed and dried the same day,
They're great for when you're sitting reading in bed, and as I sleep sitting up, it keeps my shoulders warm during the night.

I haven't got the energy left to watch TV in bed! ;-)

The House of Bath store have a very nice Chenille bedjacket for sale. You can find it online by googling House of Bath clothing and then entering "bedjacket" in the search box.

Have had one in the past and used to wear it to when feeding the baby as we didnt have heat in our then bedroom. She was a Sept baby.

Am thinking of getting some bedsocks for hubby as he often puts his dressing gown on top of the duvet cos he says his feet are cold. Trouble is he tosses and turns I get some of the dressing gown too and i feel like i am having a hot flush when it wakes me up :-|
