thank you Ann and well done to Gwyn for getting there.

I thought Rob would be composed, he is trained to the stiff upper lip by his career. However I guess that is only in company and he will now be feeling lost so still needs our thoughts.

I thought it would just be family as Daff once told me she had very few local friends which is why she enjoyed the friendship on GR.

I was glad that Ann made it and of course the lovely Gwyn.

We had some laughs afterwards, as you would expect, remembering things that made us chuckle when Daff had done or said something :-D

Daff's parents read through the tribute book and I talked with them. They had no idea she had so many friends and was so loved by people from all over the UK and abroad. I told them they can be very proud of all the help she gave willingly.

R did me the overwhelming honour of suggesting a reading and this is what I chose:

She Is Gone

You can shed tears that she is gone
or you can smile because she has lived.

You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back
or you can open your eyes and see all she has left.

Your heart can be empty because you can't see her
or you can be full of the love you shared.

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.

You can remember her and only that she's gone
or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.

You can cry and close your mind,
be empty and turn your back

or you can do what she would want:
smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

I hope you all feel the same connection as I do with those sentiments.

R wishes to express his sincere thanks for all the cards and donations, which will help the hospice a great deal.

Sue,

That is one of my favourite readings - so fitting for Daff.

It is good to know we were represented by members and that you were able to tell Daff's family how special she was to so many. The memory of Daff will bring a smile to us, for a very long time.
