Just noticed that this thread has appeared again - looked at 'last post' and saw ZZzzz and thought - yes, at 10.25, that just about sums me up :-(

My Dad used to say he was as old as his tongue but a bit older than his teeth.
And for years he would say he was 37, then when it was my 37th birthday I told him we were both the same age. :-)

An old friend sadly long gone once said that he had only lived" 94 summers and 94 winters and that isn't very long"
He was right it isn't when put like that.

chris :-)

I said to someone when in my thirtys, in the 60s, that i was an ex army nurse. Where were you stationed during the war, was the reply. My answer, at my mothers knee, I was only five.
My war was the Korean and malayan emergencies.

A guest on Radio 4 recently said old(er) people should not worry about getting forgetful.....

he sent his 6 year old daughter upstairs to get some jeans, after a while a plaintive voice called "daddy what did I come up here for" :-)

Wend, thanks for that!
when the thought of going to the hospital is more often, can I last out or will we need to find a loo before we get there! Our hospital is 20 miles away. Having waited an hour in the waiting room, just as I get up to revisit the loo my name is called and I have to choose between losing my turn or staying dry At 76 and on three water tablets a day there is little control :-D

When you used to say 'I wish to go all the way' which meant to the terminus!!!

Speaking to son last night asking how he enjoyed the concert of Gerry and the Pacemaker - he remarked he must have been the youngest there and that he had bnever seen so many zimmer frames and walking aids in one place - that it was no place to pick up a woman unless she had fallen on the floor!

74? - you are a youngster! And if your body still looks 31, I wouldn't worry about the chassis!

*tuts* - wish my body looked 31.
