Left hand/right hand syndrome. And, surprisingly I am pretty sure that the e mails were not stock ones,

Island Report 1 Nov 2011 08:18

It doesn't surprise me that 'they' said that Ann.

I have never used GR credits as I have FMP but have been given 30 free ones.

They were sending out absolute nonsense as excuses over the subs discount fiasco a few months back.

AnninGlos Report 31 Oct 2011 21:46

Well, I didn't think it would make sense Wend! :-D But that is what they said!

Wend

Wend Report 31 Oct 2011 21:44

That doesn't make sense Ann, because I was given 30 credits, but I hadn't used credits.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 31 Oct 2011 21:09

I replied to their e mail and had a very pleasant apologetic e mail back saying they don't know why it didn't register that I had tried to get on and failed and gave me three days on my membership.they apparently only awarde credits to people who had recently used credits.

Thank you for your email.

This compensation was awarded to anyone who attempted to log in last weekend, when we had severe outages of the site. To qualify, you needed to have tried to have logged in on Saturday or Sunday when these problems occured.

If you did not log in, you were not affected, and therefore no compensation was due.

Y/C,,

I wasnt replying to you dearie it was a general remark on the threads content......I didnt get any and dont need them but in general GR picked a handful of members to say sorry to by wayof recomsate of a few free credits and it seems unfair to all those that coudnt access the site and they pulled a thread because it informed and let the cat out the bag that free credits were given to some members,,,,,some arent too happy about it......!

YorkshireCaz Report 30 Oct 2011 20:25

Complain to GR not me!!! I'm not the baddy here. What I meant about not needing them was that I can afford to pay my own way, I wish they would take them back and give them to someone who obviously can't afford them.
Don't bother replying I won't be back

Kay???? Report 30 Oct 2011 19:18

only a handful of people were unaffected by the sites problems for days on end and just gave up trying to access it.......and its still not 100% for eveybody,

It would have been nice to have treated everyone the same as I'm sure some could have made use of them.

I have never done anything with my tree on here for 18 months or more, always use Ancestry. I definitely don't need them

Karen although I have slow page changes and constant error reports, waiting 45 minutes one morning for it to load, I have never complained to GR so I don't know why I have got them. You could have them if I could pass them over.

I didn't complain to GR, however that's not to say I didn't get thoroughly sick and tired with wasting my time trying to get on, and stay on, to GR lately with all the messing about.

Consequently I gave up altogether and haven't bothered with it over the last few days....which obviously means I'm not entitled to ANY freebies whatsoever - I've just checked and have been given no credits, not one, or any extra days tagged onto my sub, no, not a single one. :-(

Well done GR, the consistency with which you treat your paying customers is truly amazing!!! :-|

Caz, yes I have contacted them. Not really bothered about free credits as I have ancestry until I give it up in December but I just want everyone to be treated the same.

ChrisofWessex Report 30 Oct 2011 11:53

I switched on this morning full of hope - wrong - still slow - page still disappearing when I wish to turn a page on a thread etc etc. I just want full and swift use of this site.

YorkshireCaz

YorkshireCaz Report 30 Oct 2011 11:40

Have you been in touch with GR about it Ann. I didn't do anything but 30 credits just appeared out of the blue on the line where my name is . I don't actually use GR for tracing family, always Anc****ry.
It might be worth having a word with them about why it's so slow and you never know they might give you some credits

I actually put a thread up complaining that I was giving up because of the problems.
