UPDATE - seen consultant and good news - the chest infection I have is a mundane one TG - not the nasty one which had me hospitalised.

However the bit of a downside is that he is (when I have finished full course of steroids for 2 weeks) is to put me on a daily but lower dose.

So heigh ho I shall be fat but breathing! In spite of moaning at times I have gone up two dress sizes I do realise I am so lucky to be alive after past 2 years.

Thank you all for your kinds words of support. Does help so much.

Chris, swings and roundabouts I suppose, but hope you won't put on too much more weight despite the future lower dose of steroids. If it keeps you around for your family and to keep an eye on us here, it will be worthwhile - don't want anyone else leaving the boards.

Chin(s) up and glad you haven't got to go into hospital again

good news Chris.shouldn't worry about the lower dose of steroids.
My friend has been on them for years, and, although it puts the weight on the benefits are worth it.
Thinking of you.

I do not wish to seem ungrateful - I am not reallly but I expect all of us still, no matter the age, have some vanity left!!!!!! As soon as I can again regain the strength I had earlier this year I will be a lot happier.

As someone who others tell me was always on the go and organising everyone and this that and the other, it is a bit of a down to be left just to organising OH!!!!!

Thank you one and all, I would miss you. You keep me sane!

Chris, so pleased it is a milder infection. Mixed blessing re the steroids but I am sure it beats the alternative.

Continue to keep your sense of humour, and 'keep taking the tablets'.

Hope you soon regain at least some of your strength.

(((((hugs)))))
