Where has Julia with her gardening allotment plantation and pickling farm got to,not seen her post for months?

She disappeared around March/April. Then posted and deleted very quickly. I have had no reply to email nor has pm been opened. Sent a letter as knew her surname and area but not name of road - if any member has access to the full electoral roll and can help will they get in touch with me please? The letter was returned to me. She is not in the BT phone book. It has crossed my mind since but as I have not been too well since July and 2 wks in hospital have not done anything recently about her.

People disappear, and I quite often wonder about them - Julia, Manda in Yorkshire, Lisa in Sunny Southsea, Paul in Hampshire, to name but a few.

Her health was not good and was always in an out of hospital.

It's a shame when we don't know how people are but I thought someone had a link with Julia since the last time we were worried for her so maybe they can find out how/where she is.

It was only a fluke that I had the phone number of Deanna's son so I was able to find out she was so poorly and we could send cards and messages to her so she knew we cared, altho very sadly she died soon after I 'tracked her down' I don't know whether her son would have thought to let us know as he was so upset at the time altho having visited, he had met me so might have looked for my contact details.

I often think of those who don't come on here anymore and wonder how they are but I am not feeling 100% at the mo so haven't the energy to chase people up at the mo.

Hope Julia is ok and will be back some time.

I was thinking about contacting Chris re Julia just a couple of days ago.

I do miss Julia, she was such fun. :-D I hope she's well.

It is always worrying when people just disappear, rather than telling us they are leaving. Karen in Portsmouth (Karen on the coast I think) is another one.

In some cases it is possibly that theya re ill and their other halves are not computer literate.

Having said that I once had a penfriend who wrote regularly and who I met a couple of times. When I didn't hear I wrote an open letter to the address. It was 2 years later that i found out she had died of a brain haemhorrage in her early fifties. I hope the reason we have not heard from so many is just that they have taken up other interests.

It was sallie who had met Julia but she didn't have her address. Did Julia not tell anyone her contact details after the last time?

What a lovely, caring thread. It is so refreshing in this age to see that, it does show what a kindly, community spirit there is at GR. I have felt so much over time with being ill that nobody would have noticed whether I lived or died at times. Do hoping that your friend is safe and well. She would be very touched I am sure if she knew of your concern for her. It is very heartwarming. x

That's what's quite worrying I think Lavender, as a while back there was a very concerned group of people trying to track Julia down as she had been absent for a long time, and she could see how worried people had been.

This board has always been a place to show care for others and there used to be a wonderful community spirit when I first started posting and for a while but somehow it's changed and there are so few people around now compared to those days. Most of those still posting are as caring as every tho so hope things can improve over time and get back to the way it was.

Especially hope we can find out how Julia is doing.

I was wondering where Julia had got too havent seen her for a while, Chris what a wonderful caring person you are. :-D

Thanks to a kind member I now have the missing piece of Julia's address and will be posting a letter off tomorrow. I checked and my pm to her of end of April has not been opened. As to literate OH's - mine certainly is not. He still has not been forgiven for crashing my PC 16 years ago!!!!!! He is banned - big time.

Have often thought it would be helpful if GR had some way of letting us know when members are no longer fee paying.

Will let you know if hear from Julia - either way.

I hope she is ok, I did send a pm but it is unopened, I last her=ard from her after our hols crossed over in April May time

I join in the good wishes for Julia and hope she is all right. I just would like to say that if and when I go on the Missing List, in no way would I like anyone trying to track me down as I would consider this an invasion of my privacy.
