Sounds as tho she is getting you to do all her work for your lower pay and she is skiving off elsewhere. For heaven's sake, get this woman dealt with once and for all, she must be answerable to someone other than your immediate bosses. Can you talk to a local councillor or MP - who is paying her?

One day there will be a major problem and you might end up carrying the can - don't let her continue to browbeat you and make you the scapegoat and do more than you should be doing, Annie.

I hope you are keeping a record of the job requests which under your contract you are not allowed to do that she has asked you to do over the years you have been there.

As the record would/could come in handy one day when she goes too far with her requests.

Please contact a union either GMB or Unison just for advice on your job description and ask them for a copy of the H and S booklet.

Well i got away with the deco through H/S.The room is not going to be painted.I have more though lol Manager had our tenancy changed.Told me she had put drugs in.Got a copy today and its all be revised? Told me to call a meeting tomorrow morning.Wrote to every resident and when she left told me she would not be in tomorrow.I have no idea on new tenancy apart from from what i have downloaded and no mention of drugs but 28 days notice and not 7? GRRRR

You must tell her that to enable you to do the job safely and correctly you will have to go on a course to climb Ladders, and paint. ( Health and Safety reasons) obviously you must do so.,. If they send Firemen to learn how to use them

ElizabethK they were my thoughts exactly. You definately should not mention BP that would also allow her to say that you were not up to the job.

Just to pick up on an earlier comment.

Unless there is a restriction in your conditions of employment, there is absolutely no reason why you can't join a Union, even though there is 'only you'. It sounds as if you may need their expertize or advice. They can support you if you eventually decide to make a complaint about bullying in the work place, as well as the current situation.

COHSE has already been mentioned. If you work in the Public Sector, there is also UNISON. You don't *have to* go on strike if one is called, and the political portion of your sub can be allocated to a charity of your choice.

So much good advice on here annie. the reason your BP goes up when you return to work is that the whole time you are working for her you are under stress.

Annie, this woman has already got away with murder as far as making you do more than your fair share is concerned, I wonder if she is fiddling the books and creaming off funds for herself. It's time she was investigated and sorted out once and for all. Are you overseen by any bodies such as Ofsted, I know they used to have to check out childminders etc, wonder if they or someone similar are able to check her out. She is a lazy scheming madam who is cheating on her bosses. Are you working for the local Council or a private company?

Good luck, and just imagine us all standing watching you as you say NO to her, imagine if you let her browbeat you into doing things you aren't supposed to do and how we would react if we were there!!

Yes Sue the thinners should be enough.I have to do the COSHH and what materials we use.Thinners is not on the list lol.thank you for pointing that out

You cannot use your health as an excuse and you shouldn't need to.

It's not in your contract that you undertake maintenance therefore you will not do it.

If she gets nasty, ask her for a risk assessment and method statement. and a copy of her public liability insurance (you wouldn't want to be uninsured) and I'm pretty sure on her statement before the quote she will have said contractors will be employed. You'll also need the COSHH assessments for any paint/thinners/cleaning materials and safety data sheets.

All of which you are ENTITLED to before even considering helping out.

As you say - the problem with not spending the budget is that it sends the message that you don't need it and then you will lose it. Good luck - it can be difficult to say no but this time you really need to.

I always think of you lot as my support.I will say no tomorrow.I know she is wrong.We get a budget for this sort of thing but she is money mad and always wants to save it.I always think dont use it and lose it.She once told me to write to benefits and sign my name for a resident that we could not get hold of so we could get the money and not be in arrears.That was a deffo no and she never pushed me since on that.

The problem with a person like your boss is that everytime you give way and do what she tells you to the further she will go. Sooner or later you have to put your foot down. Good advice from Sue in Leeds......oh and George :-D
