Looking at the top 100 in the list above I was struck by what a variety of music/songs there were that were popular then. Unlike now when so much music at the top of the popularity polls all sounds the same (well it does to me.)

1974 we were just settling into a new area Lydney in the Forest of dean (Moved there in 1973, over the river from here Lol! Daughter had just started at the large comprehensive and I was working there as a lunch time assistant and loved it. Son was at the local primary and was 7 years old in 1974. I had a little Wolsely 1100, a great car. I think OH had a large Triumph 2000. Lydney then was a very quiet little town.

I had my 5th baby oct 1973,and had a severe nervous breakdown March 1974.

Spent all summer and spring of that year in hospital having electric shock therapy,16 in total,so don't remember events that year, only living under a huge black cloud and desparately missing my babies.

Oh Annina, that must have been so awful for you.

This time in 1974 I was11 and enjoying the much warmer school summer holidays. I was waiting with a bit of dread and excitment, to start a new secondary school after finishing my education at the village Primary.
