Am I too late for the crust off the bread? I love warm bread with butter, but I know it would ruin my diet lol :-)

Cup cakes.Lyons Cup Cakes. They were dreadful things, sweeter than you would think possible and we thought they were wonderful.

I remember the excitement when a box of orange and lemon ones came home.

Because I can't but an Eccles cake to my exacting standards hem hem, we make them with bought puff pastry and currants. That's all, they don't need all those other things in them that manufacturers think they do.

Merlin your toooo kind. My OH was brought up
by his granma but God bless her she was illiterate
and cooking to her was a pan of chips. My OH says
if he was on his own he could look after himself, well
thats what I had in mind when I got him into it.
Good for you Merlin I'm impressed. lolx :-)

Home baking is lovely as you say Stray, not like cake!!!!!!

Sharron I know what you mean they all have their little ways
of doing things and suppose chefs are more fussy.

Sharron

Sharron Report 15 Jul 2011 12:28

My OH is a chef by trade so is good at presentation.

If I make rock cakes or something that needs portioning out to be baked I always have a few family sized ones and some barely visible ones and a dollop left over.

He has lines of perfectly uniform portions and none left over and I want to kill him!

My Dad learned to cook Emma when my Mums arthritis got bad. He did a great fry up and a pretty god fruit cake as well.

My FIL makes his own bread,.
I think a lot of men enjoy cooking, for necessity or plaesure :-)
