I was born and brought up in SE Wales. Every Saturday night my mother would soak the peas with the white tablet that came in the box. |

Wisechild, you beat me to it, I was going to say that my Derby parents were eating and loving mushy peas in the '40's and '50's. A love that I have inherited!! We used to have the boxes of dried peas with a white tablet. |

I love faggotts too. We get a similar meatball type thing here in Spain, but soaked in tomato ,onion & garlic sauce. Ugh!! |

AS I remember...didn't they have a green tablet with them as well as the white one?Obviously to make them look more natural. |
