The following is from the Wom*n magazine

"If you are between 50 and 70 and worried about your memory failing, set aside 15 minutes and go to www.foodforthebrain.org and take The Cognitive Function Test. This highlights declining memory function. Research shows that Alzheimer's could be preventable so identifying lapses early on is vital"

I took the test and I am pleased with my results. It is worth trying. be sure to read the instructions to each of the test parts before you start the test.
Good luck to those of you that try it.

57 but ( honestly) it would have been higher if my mouse wasn't so uselessly placed on a tiny bit of table lol . I'm quite pleased with that.

Phew that hurt my eyes. Well pleased though, above average for my age so thanks Wendy for that. Well worth doing. 55% and aged 70.

I scored 71%

Now that has pleased me as I am midway between the two ages.

I do play a lot of online games so I guess that helps :-D

Well done ladies.

Are there no men that are ready to give it a try?

Course not Wendy, not now that we have put the cores up. Mind you the scores don't mean a lot without some idea of age. Sue's was good though. I never play on line games so found the mouse control was hardest.

Well it said I was not showing signs, but only scored 51, on the other hand I don't have a mouse so was a bit slow ;-)

I got off to a bad start by putting the wrong date of birth in. However, I scored 54.

I don't use a mouse I use a Nisis pen and pad (always have).

I have an aptitude (through game playing) of being able to 'oversee' the combination of letters so don't really have to read them. I think it's a bit of an unfair test TBH.

If you showed me a load of photos of well known people I'd struggle to remember their names :-S or a list of events I couldn't tell you which year they occurred in.

I thought the hardest was the same different diagrams, some of them were so small I had to really look to see them and my eyesight with glasses is fine. (Good job it didn't rely on hearing).

Ah thanks Wendy that has given me hope, especially as my mother had Alzheimers. Bob same here.

Do you think that doing genealogy is very good for mental stimulation, know I was never good at names, datesand places when young, but since doing my main tree I can remember most of it off by heart, suppose you could call it obsession. :-D
