Very sad for him and everyone who gets this dreadful disease. Or any disease. My husband got Alzheimer's at 51 years old - 10 years ago.

I agree with you Teresa, more money needs to go into the research for this.

Perhaps before turning threads like these people should respect the topic.

Many of us have personal experience of living with debilitating diseases, whether ourselves or friend & family.

It is hard to see those we love suffering, so during these times it is important for us to have good friends round us.

Let us all will & pray that cures will soon be found , as Dizzi said.

WE ALL LIVE IN HOPE THAT A CURE FOR ALL DISEASES WILL COME IN OUR TIME,
THE MORE ITS SPOKEN ABOUT PEOPLE WHO DONT UNDERSTAND WHAT ITS LIKE MAY GET TO KNOW AND BY KNOWING BE MORE TOLLERENT TOWARDS OTHERS
ITS AWFULL A MAN WHO SUNG TO US FOR YEARS IS ROBBED HIS TALENT,BUT ORDINARY PEOPLE ARE ROBBED OF QUALITY OF LIFE AS WELL,AND ITS NOT JUST THE PERSON THAT SUFFER PARTNERS CHILDREN FRIENDS,ITS JUST AS HARD FOR THEM
COPING..

I think it is one of the greatest fears of getting older that either yourself or your partner will develop it. I think they are doing a lot more research into it these days but they do need the money for the research and high profile people advertising the fact they have it wont do any harm.

I think the main problem is/was that whether Daisey was new as she claimed or not, she was still not particularly pleasant in her postings at the time. That made her sound like Amey so people jumped to the conclusion that that is who she is/was. wrong or not she did nothing to endear herself to other members by her attitude which was unfortunate. Both Amey and Daisey have an unfortunate habit of criticizing other members.

Maybe now we can forget that and accept that Daisey is who she says she is and proceed from there.

Mau, I actually really like a lot of his covers he did on a recent album sounding as gravelly voiced as can be:)

I don't think anyone is denying jumping on you Daisey? I'm not, nor do I "usually".

Re the thread you refer to I still think you sounded like someone who is not new to the board. maybe you are new ...in which case you can always choose to ignore me / people you don't feel have given you a fair chance, and you can claim the moral high ground.

This has been made public partly because GC is/ was intending to perform in concert and if he fluffed his lines it might be 'assumed' that he was drunk.

a similar thing happened to Johny Cash when he developed a form of Parkinsons. "1997: Johnny Cash reaches over to pick up a dropped guitar pick at today's concert in Flint, MI and falls over on stage; apologizing, he reveals to the audience that he is in the early stages of Parkinson's Disease. The crowd, thinking Cash is joking, laughs at the comment."

and that is another very cruel disease.

Uggers

Uggers Report 23 Jun 2011 17:10

Nor do I, Ann but I'm assuming I'm included in 'peeps'. I have know idea if either Daisey or Stan are man woman or vegetable.

Rambling

Rambling Report 23 Jun 2011 17:06

I don't think it's because he's a man Daisey, I think it's because the people who posted after Stan are all fairly non-confrontational people and perhaps decided it was said not in any realsense of malice.

Millions are suffering and that is equally as sad as a 'famous' person having Alzheimers...but we don't 'know' them by name.

cruel, cruel disease whoever has it.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 23 Jun 2011 17:06

Don't think it was directed solely at you Uggers.

Uggers

Uggers Report 23 Jun 2011 17:05

What possible reason have you to say that to me, daisey?

Mauatthecoast

Mauatthecoast Report 23 Jun 2011 17:04

Daisey....why would I call you Amy?...humm..reading back...I do think Stan's comments are wrong, but can't be doing with any aggro (having had my family affected by this illness) so sometimes I's best to 'walk on by'.......still very sad for Glen though
