I'm missing the independence I used to have

I don't drive, I've always used public transit ............ but it's now getting more tiring to do that, and I have to ask OH if he will drive me to where-ever

and he hates shopping!

Liz

Thanks for the tip re the freezer I will try it. Our cat has to live outside because of the asthma as well but don't think I will try the freezer for him.

Sorry about the chronic fatigue, my OH also has ME and IBS, althought the latter has improved in the last few years. I often joke that together we would make one fit person.

Maybe we should start a thread about what we can do to cheer ourselves up
:-)

K, I think I saw a tip once for knitting with fibres flying everywhere, put the yarn in the freezer for a while before knitting with it.

Since I developed fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome I just miss the energy levels I used to have, used to walk miles, and carry heavy shopping bags, do housework in a jiffy and walk the dog, childmind and clean and manage student lets belonging to a friend as well as play out on the park with the kids I cared for and much much more. All gone now over the past ten years, makes me so fed up as I miss so much by being sleepy all the time.
I used to do work on my house and garden, clean the car and do the oil and everything, and still found time to watch tv and read and chat on the phone to friends.

Oh to be back in my 40s again, and know what I know now, I would have taken more care of my shoulders and back and kept an eye on my weight too, where did these extra lbs come from lol?

Heyho, mustn't let it all beat me.

Lizx

This might make you smile - the other day I went to my house and saw my new next door neighbours who are gutting the house. I explained that I was the absent neighbour and asked if they were working on the house, one lad said No I have bought it. He and his brother and friend are doing it up and they were filthy dirty with all the muck from the loft etc (old Victorian terraced house). They were so chatty and friendly and showed me what they were doing and what he had planned (wants to put back original features etc) and I had to check myself, almost found myself flirting for a mo, but at least we had a laugh! Certainly made my day, that's for sure!

Being young means never having to leave the bar alone.

I mean, not with the same person every time, anyhow. ;)

Everything else is still working here these days,* but that power seems to have evaporated somewhere along the way ...

* Well, except for the blasted eye ... and of course No.1. He hasn't worked in years ...

One thing I really miss is dancing because OH is disabled and just going out for a meal without thinking about - is the place wheelchair accessable, have they got a disabled loo, Mind you I've had some funny looks at times when I've checked out the gent's loo to see if it's OK.

Knew that GR ladies would see the bright side of things. It amazes me how people cope with so many problems. Does it annoy you when you are told how well you look when you know it isnt true? More time for reading, found myself without a library bok as I had finished mine a week too early! Never mind, he will be here on Wed, if the van hasnt broken down again. :-)

Walking, we were out most nights after tea walking on the local moors birdwatching. The other one I can't do is cook/bake and I miss it so much. Chris I was also a celebration cake decorator but I gave it up due to arthritis in my hands, the last one I did was a five tier wedding cake for my cousin.
