Why do men nearly always take their socks off inside out and then when they are washed and dry I have to turn them round before I can match and roll up.

You don't have to turn them back the right way - just leave them inside out and match them up as normal (if you must). They soon learn.

LOL

No Jill - could not see that working with OH , he would not even notice, would put them on and that would irritate me even more!!!!!

...have to admit, I bought some socks from M& S in Street, with 'L' and 'R' on the bottom. I have to match them up!

Island Report 20 Feb 2011 00:03

I let mine sort his own socks out.

Lyndi Report 20 Feb 2011 00:09

Don't turn them back the right way - he will do that himself the next time he wears them - just settle for them being the right way only 50% of the time!!

Because they are of an alien nation.....There is no reason.....men are men....they do things because they are aliens......believe me.....I know these things.

Mine has to sort his own washed, dried socks out, most of them are the same style/ design/colour for work ones so easy to do, he does it while he sits and watches tv

I don't make myself a slave to his laundry, if he wants his boxers ironed he can do them himself otherwise wears them unironed which is most of the time!

He does annoy me by not unrolling the tops of his socks, which seem to curl as he removes them from his feet!

My OH receives his back exactly the way they were put in the wash....can't say as I've ever noticed if he's been wearing them inside out.....will have to have a look later ...x

Could ask the same question as to why women take their knickers off inside out.

Island

Island Report 20 Feb 2011 12:11

To Valerie, re the shirts.

Many years ago when we hadn't been married that long, I got fed up of finding shirts with the sleeves rolled up. In the end I cut the sleeves off three shirts, to make a point. I hasten to add that I did make a professional job but didn't discuss my solution prior to chopping them off. The result was he hardly ever bought another shirt with long sleeves......perhaps thats why we live a mile apart now...lol......jl

My OH does that too JustGinnie, and I always have to check his pockets of his trousers for loose change, bits of paper, handkerchiefs, the list goes on.

my son always manages to end up with odd socks, don't know how they get lost form his room to the wash basket!

*$parkling $andie* Report 20 Feb 2011 17:05

Always check the pocket for tissues , or money and pay statements ,in my son's case!

As for socks, black are a nightmare to match up.

Don't give a toss if they are inside out our not, other than shirts , which I have to iron , if the rest leave theirs inside out they get put back in the the same way the were presented to be washed.

Liz ~~
Iron boxers..? Wouldn't dream of it ! No underwear in fact , towels or tea towels .

MIL used to iron everything she washed. But always folded hubby's shirts
a thing I never do , always on hangers.

Inspector GP
Do you do the the washing..? Or how do you know ladies undieslol are inside out ..? lol

How great to have no nagging...lol.

Main clothes to the cleaners, come back all pressed and on hangers.
Shirts stc, and linens to the laundry, comes back all ironed and folded...easy, even socks all sorted and folded.

A gel after my own heart.
If the good lord had meant us to waste time ironing she wouldn't have made us warm blooded. :-)
I'm wondering if a ladies knickers turning inside out might have connotations.................could be one for Motie n'est pas?

Quite right Foggy! we have clothes to keep us warm (and to prevent frightening the horses) not to keep us busy. LOL
