trying a different one, ten minutes... and i can't get it off my face! lol I may have to stay in for a week or so.

When I get rich I'm going to have my hair dyed at the hairdressers everytime!

Always put Vaseline around your hairline and on your ears and neck :)

Well the weather isn't going to be too good for the next few days so you can hibernate for a bit.lol

My boy commented to me today " God , Mum your going grey ! " .
We where in the green house at the time , under the full glare of the sun .
He sounded quite shocked ( as you do , when you suddenly see the aging process happening to your parent ....lol ) .
I replied " It's great isn't it " ......as far as I'm concerned I'm looking forward to getting some volume to my hair after all the years of having to live with the thin fly-away stuff that has inhabited my scalp forever . My grey hair certainly seem tougher and stronger .

Good luck with your patchy head Rose.......lol ( wonders , will I crack and start singing a different song in a few months ? .....lol )

I usually do that when I dye my hair. I still managed to get some on my jaw line though. I also managed to get it on the bathroom wall lol

Rose, I love to have my hair done at the hairdressers but I can't afford it either. It was costing me about £63 for colour, cut and blow dry and that was with a student discount of 10%

Amanda , it is mostly still brown but the sides are white-ish rather than grey...in a few years when more of it matches the sides I will leave it as it is :)

Cat I had it done when I was down in London last year as a treat, and it was wonderful lol, just to sit there and have Sebastien playing with my hair lol...wonderful hands ;)

Rose ... I'm lucky I suppose , as I'm going " salt and pepper " , just like my Mum and Nan before me . I used to love colouring my hair ( mostly Henna ) when I was a youngster but I couldn't be dealing with all that mess these days .....lol
My daughters ( well two of them ) have pink hair at the moment !! and they come here to dye it ! .....Grrrrr ......lol

If I go like my mum I'll be well pleased Amanda, she had very fine hair and it went into beautiful streaks that you'd have paid a fortune to get put in lol

Pink sounds good lol, I always rather fancied purple but never had the courage to do it :)

I'm finally letting mine 'go grey', lol! Had a colour analysis recently and I'm 'winter' so grey should look OK. Actually it looks more salt & pepper. Was told to avoid red/copper, and as even semi-permanents lighten and tend to go reddish, have decided to see what the natural colour looks like!

Amanda2003 Report 1 Jul 2010 23:29

Many years ago , my friends attempted to streak my hair purple . Now , my hair is very fine and they got carried away pulling it through the cap with lttle holes in , firstly to bleach it into streaks , ready for the purple colour . The end result , much to my horror , was a head of bleached hair ( the Purple colour being a wash in and wash out far to quickly thing ! ) . I looked like a clapped out rock star in no time at all .....LOL

That's when I discovered that short hair suits me best : ))

Amanda2003 Report 1 Jul 2010 23:32

Good for you Shelia.......I hope you like the natural colour : )

I go to the local college to have my hair done (during term time). Very cheap, done by a student under the supervision of a tutor. It tends to take a long time, as everything has to be checked.

I have been delighted with the results. Even when I treated myself to pink, purple and blue streaks for my 60th birthday. (for less than ten pounds).

I have also had marvelous pedicures and massages.

Well worth trying.

Tess

P.S. My hair is mainly white

I used to always dye my hair a burgandy colour then decided that black looked great so I had that for a while. Have left my hair its natural colour for a while now, which is brown. I would love to dye my hair again except with the chemo pills I take I am scared my hair will all fall out.

HI

You can buy special dye removing tissues from Superdrug. They are about 99p.

Good luck

If you put some perfume onto some cotton wool and give it a bit of a rub, it will remove it. Dont ask me how .... but it works! Susan

try using johnson baby wipes, they are brilliant for just about every stain you want rid of. goodness knows what goes in them considering what they were intended for though!!
