Consultant spoke about knee replacement two weeks
ago. Steroid after draining fluid off knee usually works
but apparently injection now half the dose because of
side effects. I have nothing to complain about really as
a lot of people worse off than me but some days I feel
sorry for myself. Emmax Goodnight all

I am off to bed soon, myself... even though I dozed off for a couple of hours earlier, but it is the painkillers! And yes, that is a problem I have often had, looking absolutely fit and rudely healthy, and then tests show that I am actually quite poorly... I had pleurisy 5 times in 18 months a few years ago... and went to the GP with earache each time... I wasn't coughing at all! I had given up smoking, and that was the catalyst, initially.

I might write a book yet, lol

Emma, that is a shame, has it always worked in the past for you? Have you been recommended as a bionic woman candidate by your GP? Sounds like you need it, quite badly.

MrDaff

MrDaff Report 14 Jun 2010 22:13

My GP thought it was RA, but never got referred, and in the meantime, the leukaemia butted in and took priority. The tests and Rheumatologist post AML say I don't have RA, which is a relief. The Top Doctor Haemo man thinks that the severe escalation of the bone and joint pains was likely to have been a precurser to the Leukaemia, but they don't know. People who have presented that way haven't been studied properly, so it is anecdotal, and none survived the treatment.

What has also happened is that as my immune system has improved, so has my bone and joint pain increased, and it is definitely cyclical. Every so often, I get a course of steroids, and it is pure bliss, lol.... I am moving into that phase again, now. So there has to be something inflammatory/immune going on, according to Rheumo, GP and Haemo.... but we don't know what it is. All very frustrating to say the least.

My bones are mostly very very strong, although I do have damage to two of my vertebrae, my right shoulder and left ankle/foot/lower leg causing osteoarthritis, all from sporting or work related accidents..... and my cholesterol is excellent (2.9 fasting) I don't have diabetes, and all my organs, despite throwing a hissy fit last year and going on strike/go slow for a bit, are all very healthy. ;¬)) My hands get very sore and clumsy as well, at times.

So I can understand why there looks to be nothing much wrong with me except being overweight, lolol I look the picture of robust good health, and did throughout my treatment. Well, there were a couple of times, and no hair was a bit of a giveaway, lolol

Bet you wished you hadn't asked now, aren't you? lolol

Love

I began to feel tired for no reason and had aches and
pains, stiffness in joints and hot spots (flare ups)
Gradually got worse where at times could not weight
bare. Thought Limes disease but diagnosed RA.
Hope I've explained it OK.

Ladylol Pusser Cat Report 14 Jun 2010 21:55

daff the doc said today lots of tabs have side affects of making you hungry but he said what they fail to put is that they actually make you gain weight if you have tried your best not to eat more.
Ive just looked up capsiplex it sounds good its the chilli peppers in it that spped your metabolism up instead of caffiene etc, i do eat chillie pickled chillie lol.
