Dont mean to interfere. Daughters oh's cousin died in feb aged 20.The family had a party last week to mark the cousins 21st which i think was great. My daughter is 6 months pregnant with a boy.The baby has a extra middle name now as well.I accept that as well. Today daughters other half has come in and said he is going to have a tattoo all down the side of his arm with his cousins full name on. I said "WHAT" He glared at me and walked out.I think he is grieving very bad,but dont think a tattoo will help him. He is only 22 so he grew up with him and its all so raw still. Annie

A lot of people have tattoos as a form of remembrance for those who have died.

You can't help your reaction to him telling you though, leave it a day or two and maybe talk about it with him.

i think a lot of people talk about tatoos without actually geting it dne, he may not go ahead it may just be a thought for now, but to be honest either way its kinda nothing to do with you if he does or doesnt, i to think a tattoo wont help especially one that big but if thats what he wants then he will get it done regardless of what you think hun xxxx

I would very probably have reacted the same as you.
Giving the baby his middle name is nice though if they were close. As Kitty said leave it a day or 2 and then talk to him.
Its a big shock to lose someone that young who you have grown up with and he will be grieving for a long time yet.
Perhaps you could suggest other ways to remember him by ie, planting a tree or a memorial bench in local park.
At the end of the day its his descision but try not to worry about it, we are all human and sometimes react in a way that with hindsight we might not have done.

Stray i do know where you are coming from.I have a tattoo.I have also lost a few cousins (come from a big family) one cousin was only 7.My last one was 26. Before his cousin died his side of the family had had a row and they were not talking.I think he thinks its going to make everything right? Annie

We all handle grief in different ways, whatever the outcome I hope he finds peace of mind soon.

aw he probably thinks hes doing his cuz, a favour geting the big tattoo then, hes obv still grieving badly, give him time hun he may relaie imself its abig thing to do xxx
